My passion for health and fitness has grown out of my own health issues and life experiences. After being diagnosed with a thyroid disease, I started looking into ways I could feel better physically. The main way was to lose weight and exercise. In 2007, my New Year’s Resolution was to lose weight. I joined Weight Watchers and met my goal! Two years later, I hired a personal trainer and found I felt better physically, mentally and emotionally. I enjoyed my training experience so much that I decided to get my Personal Training Certification and Sports Nutrition Certification.
I have trained clients of all ages from teens to seniors and can adapt training sessions to fit their various needs or medical limitations. I focus on helping clients achieve their goals and increasing their awareness of their body. I give information and tips to encourage and motivate, but it is ultimately up to the client to achieve their goal.
Being a personal trainer compliments two factors that motivate me – health and helping others. Many clients come with the only goal of losing weight and getting fit. In the process, they end up discovering other areas of their life benefit from the experience. Some achieve fitness goals they never thought they could, others discover a passion they never knew they had, and others find a sense of healing. I am honored to be a part of that experience for each of my clients.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, hanging out with friends, relaxing with my husband and dog, and cooking healthy foods. I have found that looking for healthy recipes and then cooking them keeps me on target to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
