Hello, I'm Tracy, and I am a certified health and wellness coach and I am currently working on a fitness nutrition specialist education. I spend my days teaching people how to become healthy after years of going down a self destructive path. For many, starting a journey back to health, and learning how to eat and cook healthy can be confusing and frustrating. I know how difficult this can be due to my own health and fitness struggles I have been through in the past. My mother started me out at the age of 4 in dancing school because she didn’t want me to end up overweight like she had been her whole life. By the time I was 13 I had been become a certified aerobic instructor by two different organizations (my first was IDEA), but this was just the tip of my journey to health. For the next several years I became a fitness and workout queen.......there was nothing I didn’t do or try..........rock climbing, yoga, karate, Zumba, running, kick boxing, weight lifting, and working with several different trainers, just to mention a few, but no matter how much time I spent in the gym I didn’t have the key to being naturally healthy and lean. At one point I decided that considering I never really had the body that I wanted, I was going to love myself the way I was, eat the foods I enjoyed and just workout even harder at the gym (about 3 hours per day). The next thing I knew I found myself at 185 lbs and more depressed then ever! (in addition I was nutritionally deficient, and over trained from to much exercise) Then one day it clicked! I had always heard that weight loss was 80% diet and 20 exercise and it finally made me realize that I didn’t have a clue about healthy eating! And that’s when things really got exciting. I started doing research and got down everything I needed to know.......it’s a good long story, but in short, I lost all of my excess body fat and got in the best shape of my life, and I got on stage in a tiny suit and competed in several figure competitions. Most importantly I learned how to keep that excess fat from coming back while having balance in my life to participate along with everyone else. The truth is what you eat is more like 90% of health plan weather your trying to gain muscle or lose fat. Don’t make the same mistakes I did and waste your valuable time on rumors and fads that won’t get you the progress you deserve.
