My story begins with struggle. In 2003, two days before I was set to graduate high school, a catastrophic auto accident almost took my future away. The car that I was a passenger in lost control and flipped over several times, leaving me severely maimed and pinned beneath a mangled mess of metal and scolding gasoline. Believe it or not, this experience would also equip me with the tools necessary to help anybody I would encounter in life, no matter what challenge they were up against. When I arrived back to awareness days later, I was not the same as when I left. The body that I returned to was broken and burned, slashed and smashed. Numerous fractures in my neck and back had the doctors talking surgery and wheelchair, 3rd degree burns were destined to bubble, crinkle and scar and I had suffered severe head trauma that would potentially atrophy my brain. I was a mess, and this was all topped off by the 500+ sutures that would soon secure my scalp like stitching on a baseball. I was a naked Soul, and now obligated to recreate my entire being (body and mind) from square one, or give up and wither away. I decided to fight, for a chance at life, and for a quality one, free of pain and limitation; I saw no other option than to fight my way back.
In fall of 2003, with no time off, I attended the University of Rhode Island, and challenges arrived around every turn. First challenge I faced was retraining my body and mind to be at basic level of operation. With the help of athletic trainers, physical therapists and psychologists, I was able to recover memory and muscle. I was given another chance at life, and this time I was going to live with a purpose.
Upon departure from University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology and studies in Psychology, Philosophy, Nutrition and Education, I travelled home to New Jersey, where I would devise a plan of action. The Tri-State area was in great need of quality Holistic Medicine, Mindfulness and Philosophy, it seemed appropriate to begin in my native state. Within a year, I began to train and coach hundreds of clients, from young athletes to Broadway Stars, the elderly to Professional Athletes; I was even managing music acts and consulting for brands in development, assisting all types of creatives and professionals with improving their craft and maintaining integrity and dignity to their purpose(s).
My life as a motivator and coach was creating a lot of buzz and I began to acquire more and more work. Taking on contracts at rehabilitation clinics, schools, dance academies, and gyms, soon my role shifted into a program director and teacher of teachers. Working a couple years in Director positions, I recognized many flaws in the fitness/wellness industry. Gyms needed to redefine themselves, to no longer be fitness facilities, but rather Clubs of Self-Cultivation and Personal Development, or Self Discovery. Gyms should be developing and conditioning the Minds and Hearts of their members, along with their Bodies. A few years later, this altruistic idea would evolve into the Temple Qinesis, Club for Cultivation.
In 2011, I founded the brand ‘Temple Qinesis’ which offers an evolutionary opportunity to improve integrity and integrate the realms of Fitness, Wellness, Philosophy, the Arts, Competition Teams, Community Clean-Ups, Charities, and more!
Temple Qinesis currently has presence on 5 continents with multiple gym & studio locations opening in coming months. We have partnered with some truly amazing brands and our affiliates share our altruistic aims and hopes for humanity, and all life on Planet Earth.
I also am Co-Founder & Managing Director over such brand names as Qandy, Soul2Sole, Qures, THNK and more!
