Sheila has been a fitness and nutrition enthusiast her entire adult life. She regularly attended “aerobics” classes while in college which is also when she became a proponent of eating a natural whole foods diet while avoiding artificial ingredients of any kind. Several years working as a chef helped Sheila incorporate her healthy eating style with gourmet cooking. “Healthy food tastes good!”
Although consistently active with gardening and other outdoor activities, Sheila needed a little something extra to get back into shape after the birth of her second child. It was weight training, introduced to her by her husband that was the answer. Within a few months Sheila was in the best shape of her life and officially became a self proclaimed “gym rat”.
Over the years Sheila gained a vast amount of (self-taught) knowledge in weight training and exercise techniques. In 2010, Sheila attended the National Personal Training Institute in pursuit of a career as a personal trainer. She truly enjoys sharing what she has learned and believes that it will have a positive effect on people’s lives. She is passionate about helping people attain a healthier lifestyle which includes regular exercise, proper nutrition and a positive attitude. Sheila believes fitness is for everyone, not just athletes. Her outgoing personality helps make her workouts fun, but she is strict with her clients when it comes to proper form and technique.
Since graduating from NPTI, Sheila has continued to study and take workshops to further her knowledge. She has added certifications in Kettlebell Training and TRX Suspension Training and will be continuing her education this fall with a Functional Movement seminar and workshop.
Sheila has helped many people become healthier, lose weight and feel better. Whether you’re a new mom trying to get back in shape, a middle aged couch potato trying to live a healthier lifestyle or a senior citizen trying to maintain strength and balance Sheila can design a program just for you. Sheila has been training clients at The Aquatic and Fitness Center in Jenkintown and in their homes since 2010.
Sheila has a varied career background as a musician, chef, and garden designer and is able to incorporate her creativity into her workout routines.
She enjoys many outdoor activities, reading, music and spending time with her family.

Sheila's workouts have helped me tremendously over the past year. When I started with Sheila a year ago, I told her that while I was in shape cardiovascularly, I really needed to tone up and learn how to lift and circuit train. I had worked with other trainers in the past, but was still not seeing the results I was looking for. Sheila works hard to create routines that work all of my muscles, while teaching me new ways to mix up different exercises to ensure results. I have never been this toned and strong. I’ve been working with Sheila for over a year. Within that time, I’ve seen major changes to my balance, strength, body shape, endurance and weight. Sheila pushes me harder than I could push myself. She designs each workout to hit all muscle groups and gives emphasis to those particularly weakened by my desk jockey lifestyle. But it’s not all crunches and free weights. We have some fun, too. At the end of each hour, I’m better than I was at the start. My progress is visible and the hard work is worth it. And I owe it all to Sheila.
I joined AFC in March, 2012. At the time, I had not done a serious workout in at least five years. Sheila changed that from the outset. We have been working twice a week and she has helped me increase my flexibility, strength and endurance in a number of ways. I love her ability to vary the routines and find new and challenging ways to “stretch” myself. I have already learned a great deal from her about how to warm up, stretch various muscle groups, and challenge myself. She manages to accept my best efforts while always pushing me to do more. I am healthier today than I was in March. Both my blood sugar and weight have responded to our workouts. This success is due to Sheila’s skill and motivational abilities.
