My relationship with training started over 32 years ago when a friend’s help in the gym initiated my transformation from a frail teenager to a fit and strong adult. After realizing the changes this made in my confidence, health and all aspects of my life, my ambition was to help other people empower themselves with their bodies. I have been a personal trainer for over 21 years and have held a number of certifications from various sports, nutrition and fitness organizations. Presently the certifications I've completed are: NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist, NASM MMA Conditioning Specialist, NASM Women's Fitness Specialist, ISSA Sports Nutrition Specialist, NASM Senior Fitness Specialist, ISSA Personal Trainer, NASM Youth Exercise Specialist, Functional Movement Systems (FMS), PowerPlate (CPPT), NASM Golf Fitness Specialist and StrongFirst SFB & SFG(Bodyweight and KettleBell) Instructor. I am also trained in a range of strength and exercise approaches including kettlebells, post rehab and corrective exercise. I believe in combining experiences from various schools of knowledge to achieve the best strategies for the fitness goals of my clients. My goal is to keep them happy, healthy and revitalized through my systems of "Freestyle Functional Fitness and Functional Strength and Conditioning” that are safe, effective and efficient while helping them create dynamic bodies that can handle their lives challenges. “Your body’s is the most important vehicle in life, when it’s strong, it can take you anywhere and everywhere!”

    I have been working with Shawn for only a few weeks and am already extremely pleased with his training. In a very short period of time, I already feel stronger, leaner, and energized. Shawn's workouts are very specific to each client. It doesn't matter how old you are, your individual athletic background, or what your personal goals are; Shawn will find a workout routine that is effective, personalized, and fun. Shawn is very knowledgeable about nutrition and healthy eating habits. His guidance and expertise have enlightened me to make better dietary choices. He will push you to stay competitive with yourself while simultaneously making sure you are being safe and mindful of what will help your body versus what could be harmful. It doesn't matter who you are or what you're specifically looking to get out of personal training, Shawn will make your goals realistic and educate you on the best way to get there. He is knowledgeable and easy to get along with. I would recommend Shawn's training to anyone.

    Shawn is the best! Working with this 60 plus body he is patient, kind, and thoughtful! I am looking for better flexibility and fitness. I am finding it with Shawn. I would rather pay Shawn then a doctor or hospital. He will keep me out of both. Exercise is medicine. Working with Shawn will eventually get me where I want to be. Shawn has worked with my idiosyncrasies. He knows about nutrition. He has great experience.

    I am 60 years old, in fair shape, and have an upcoming surfing trip. My wife has been working with Shawn and is totally satisfied with him. She encouraged me to train with him and I thought, no way! She explained how quickly she was improving so I thought I would give it a try. Now you couldn't get me to quit. Shawn is very knowledgeable, experienced, and tailors my workout to my individual needs. I now plan to stay focused in my well-being with Shawn and couldn't be more pleased!

    Shawn Smith changed my life in six short months. Change doesn't happen over night, but with the right teacher - your life will be trasnformed. He will taylor your exercise to your lifestyle and expectations. My routine was different in many aspects to the individual who recommended me, and we both saw unbelieable results that we can manage the rest of our lives. I have recommedned many of my friends and family, after they've seen the results with their own eyes. Working with shawn will be the best decision of your life, when it comes to your health.

    Shawn is awesome. His goal is not simply to make you have the biggest muscles around, but to be healthier, faster, stronger and more flexible than you have ever been before. As a rugby player, he personalized my workout to make me the best rugby player I could be based on assets a rugby player needs to succeed. When I injured my ankle, he personalized my workout to focus on recovery and stability. Your workout will be different than mine, because Shawn will develop a workout for you that makes you better physically, mentally and emotionally depending on what's going on in your own life.
