A little about my experience, education, background and me:

I am currently working as a personal trainer at 24 Hour Fitness in Kirkwood, MO and have been at this location since July of 2006. While at 24 Hour Fitness I have trained over 100 clients and over 4500 session hours. I have received my bachelors in Nutrition and Dietetic Science through Saint Louis University and have plans of getting my Masters as well as becoming a Registered Dietitian down the road. I am also currently certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) as a Personal Trainer, Performance Enhancement Specialist, and a Corrective Exercise Specialist.

My passion for working out started in high school and continued to grow through my time in the Marine Corps where I served on active duty for 4 years. I still currently serve as a member of the Missouri Air National Guard and have been for the last 10 years as a training instructor for them.

My focus in training has been predominately in weight-loss, body composition/image change, nutrition counseling, general health and wellness, and injury prevention/rehabilitation. As I have grown over the years I have realized that many people have many different goals but most fall within the major categories I have focused on. This has also been influenced by my own personal interest in injury prevention as well as healthy eating habits for general health and body composition as I have gotten older.
Through the years I have broadened my approach to training. Realizing that being able to get my clients to enjoy every session they have as more than just a butt-kicking workout but a chance to unwind in the gym and use their time as an escape. The stress and problems of the outside world are always going to be there but as long as your only stress in the gym is the physical kind than I know you will have had a good time working out. I'm not a yeller or screamer in the gym but rather a motivator, educator, and shoulder to lean on when need be. I try to be an open ear for all my clients as they normally find their sessions to be a great time to work off some stress from life and know they have a person there to listen to all the little things that they need to get off their mind. Being able to have my clients walk away relaxed mentally and fatigued physically all while getting a good workout in towards their fitness goals is my main goal.

I truly believe that as a trainer, our education should never stop. There is always more to learn and always more ways to improve yourself so that you can help your clients even more. I love to learn and if I am not in class, I am looking towards other sources of good health and fitness education to pick up new things from.

As a Physical Therapist, I was tired of self treating and needed motivation to get to the gym. I was very concerned about finding the right personal trainer to help me decrease my low back pain and increase my right leg strength. I observed many personal trainers at the gym and I can say without a doubt Scott is the best. He has an excellent understanding of the human anatomy which is extremely important to develop the safest and best program for his clients to achieve their goals. He is always making sure all exercises are performed correctly with good form, which is also important to me to prevent injury or setbacks. I have seen Scott develop programs for his clients needs and goals, not just a cookbook program. I trained with Scott for over a year and I achieved my goals. My low back and right leg is much stronger, I am no longer taking medicine, and continue to perform my exercise program on my own. I also learned from Scott, new and fun exercises that I give to my patients which have helped in their rehab process as well.

I have trained with Scott for 5 years and he has gotten me into the best shape of my life. Scott has trained me for a variety of events such as, a figure/bodybuilding competition, my wedding, a half marathon, everyday health and wellness, and even certain goals such as the number of pull ups I can do. He provides challenging workouts that are motivating and effective. Scott answers all the questions I have ranging from what are good snacks to have to why am I doing this exercise. He provides thorough answers and helps me understand my workout and nutrition. Many trainers may follow a guide of what workouts a client should do. However, Scott not only designs a certain workout for a client, but can also provide nutrition information. Scott pays very close attention to form, which has prevented many injuries, yet continuously provides results. He is constantly reading up on the latest fitness articles and continues to educate himself in health and wellness. Scott is a brillant trainer and motivator. He is very reliable and I give him the highest recommendation. Scott loves helping and encouraging people reach their goals whie educating them on maintaing a healthy lifestyle.

Scott has been a wonderful asset to my fitness program. I have not used him as a continous trainer, but sproradically over the last several years as the need arises. Scott has deep knowledge in injury prevention and rehabilitation. He has been particularly helpful in working with pains I have in my lower back and in my shoulder after rotator cuff repair surgery. With his formal training in nutrition, Scott gives scientifically reliable information on maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

I can recommend Scott to anyone who is interested in a quality traing experience.

The rating for Scott should be 5 stars and not 2. Mea culpa!

I trained with Scott for about one year. I found him to be incredibly dedicated, innovative and sensitive to my goals and aspirations. I continue to use Scott's training methods to this day! I owe a great deal to Scott for improving my physical and mental attitude regarding exercise as well as shaping my thoughts on how to live a full and healthy life.
