I have known Rick Barnabo for many years and he is one of the most professional and caring individuals in our community. I wanted to take the time to reply to “Molly Wrights” attack on Rick Barnabo. As a health care professional who worked closely with this support group her claims are without merit. The group was designed strictly for information and support for cancer survivors and their families. Rick graciously agreed to facilitate the meetings without receiving compensation. There was to be no solicitation of any kind involved in this group. The person in question attended two meetings in which he attempted to market his product. Several members of the group expressed their concern about this man being there indicating they felt preyed upon. He was confronted in a completely peaceful and non-threatening way and politely told the purpose of the group was for support and not to solicit members; and that Security (not the police) would be notified if he returned. Rick discussed this situation with hospital personnel associated with the group; they concurred that should this person show up again security should be called and he would be escorted off the grounds.

I went to a "Cancer Support Group" meeting in Prescott, AZ. That Rick hosted. I was there when he threatened a wonderful visitor with a PhD in Herbal Medicine. All because he wanted to help an older lady for free with advice and a formula called "Cellular Tea" (at no cost to her) Rick threatened to call the police if the guy ever came again. How SAD! Rick and many like him sell-out to BIG PHARMA...for the sake of DEADLY-TOXIC-CHEMO. It's always about the money! Don't trust Rick with his silly fitness credentials!

I began working with Rick and his partner Paula in early March 2015. I sought help from them because I had been suffering from a gastroenterology issue which resulted in a 20 pound weight loss. I was feeling very weak and fatigued. I had lost my hope. Rick and Paula designed a program to fit my needs with the goal of gaining strength and weight. We met once per week, I was taught a host of different weight and strength training exercises. I was given assignments for each day in between our work out sessions. In addition Rick would email me a training log to help remind me of the exercises that I learned the week before. As each week went by, I felt stronger both physically and emotionally. I am very thankful to report that after 10 weeks of training, guidance and encouragement from both Rick and Paula, I feel strong and hopeful. I continue to work out each day just as I was instructed and actually enjoy my work out sessions. For me this experience has been a life changer. I owe a great deal to Rick and Paula and would recommend them to anyone.

I hired Rick in Nov '13 to help me get my muscle tone back after almost a year of chemo. I am a 60 year old female and had been active up until my cancer diagnosis. Rick was very knowledgeable, caring, kind, patient, motivating and conscious of teaching safe lifting techniques with free weights and a stability ball. He was careful about determining the weight that would be most appropriate for me. I never would have received the attention I required to do each exercise correctly in a group class (plus would have felt self conscious). Rick taught me numerous exercises for each part of the body. After each session he sent a spread sheet summarizing the exercises, weight and reps that we did. I am very happy to say that I feel better and am noticing more muscle after 4 months. It is exciting to see the changes. I had 8 sessions of training with Rick. I do have to say that it is more fun and easier with him here to guide me than it is doing it on my own, however, I have been diligent and it has paid off. Rick also makes himself available for any questions. I can't say enough good things about Rick. He is such a caring person and has made a positive difference in my life. Mary Gouveia
