Rafique D.Flex Cabral

Merrick, NY

I've always lead a very active lifestyle. After High School, I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. I served 4 years active duty and traveled to various places around the world. I learned multiple disciplines and earned the rank of Sergeant before leaving active duty. My time in the military showed me that I liked motivating people and pushing them to achieve their best, which led me straight into personal training. Every year, my passion for this business grows and I only hope to get better at what I do while helping ALL of my clients achieve their fitness goals.

Flex is a master of his craft, but still manages to improve year after year. His constant strive to excel shows in his dedication to his clients.

I started working out with Flex almost four years ago, and have never thought once about training with anyone else. His style is a big part of that. He's both a trainer and a coach. He doesn't go through the motions and he actually cares about his clients!

When I first met him I was very impressed with his professionalism and knowledge, but that only goes so far. He gets the job done. He knows how to provide the right mix of motivation and patience to make you stretch your goals without burning out. Things that I have hated (running!) -- he's showed me how to tolerate, maybe even enjoy a little. To me, the sign of a great trainer is someone who can make you do those things you didn't like, or didn't think you could do.

You will see results working out with this man. You will bust your ass, you will wake up sore and you will sweat. To get the most out of your time with him, go into sessions with him with an open mind and ready to work -- not making excuses for what you THINK you can't do. Trust me, he knows better than you what you can and cannot accomplish and he will not put a task in front of you that you cannot do (with the right effort and attitude!)

After a few sessions, you'll see why Flex is very successful in what he does and that success will begin to rub off on you. He has helped me take fitness from a hobby to a lifestyle and I am very thankful for that.

My friend and I were Flex's FIRST clients back in 2009. Always fresh faced and smiling at 7 am, he gave us nothing but professionalism and encouragement. Encouragement came in different forms - at times, threats to work us harder if we didnt give him the 150% (not 149%), hi fives when we willingly gave him 150% or promises to work us harder when we proved to him that we can do 151%. He's amazing at what he does not only because he KNOWS what he's doing, but he because he BELIEVES in what he is doing. I still attend his boot camp classes as religiously as possible and am ridiculously proud of how much he's grown. Not only do you get phsyical results working with him but you realize the potential of your own will to really get ish done when you are pushed to your limit.

Rock on Flex - cant wait to see how much more you've grown in the next 3 years. :)

Flex is a pain. He makes me work so hard and keeps forcing me to do exercises that seem absolutely impossible. I end up sweating profusely and grunting ridiculously. Throughout the session he stays completely focused on me. He is infinitely patient, which one would not necessarily expect from a marine. He listens to my concerns and always offers advice. He laughs when I swear at the Kettle bells and threaten the TRX. I grumble a lot, but his training has made such a huge difference for me. I leave training exhausted but wake up in the morning extra toned and feeling great. Now I need my boot camp level training fix! Flex is a pain because he is the best.

After 1 year with Flex, I jump higher, run faster, last longer, lift more, look better, and feel awesome. He knows how to push you just far enough, and always keeps the workouts fresh. Just when you think you've figured out a move, he tweaks it a little and takes it the next level, so you can understand how you've progressed and get that feeling of accomplishment while still having a challenging workout.

Even my workouts without Flex have gotten tougher because I have a better understanding of what I can do and because I hear Flex in my head challenging me to work harder.

Flex is awesome and, with his help, you can be too.
