Melisa Deane has been teaching Asthanga yoga, power yoga, Vinyasa Flow styles for more than twelve years. She is also a certified STOTT Pilates instructor in Baltimore, Maryland. She founded MaKa Movement, LLC and created a unique 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in Yoga for Health & Fitness based on Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. The training is certified by Yoga Alliance. Melisa is director of MaKA Movement, a home-grown studio that's mission is to inspire people to be healthy and happy through movement. MaKa's focus is on small group teacher trainings, private yoga and Pilates and nutrition coaching, and corporate classes. Melisa completed her 200-hour yoga certification in Ashtanga Yoga at Yoga Hawaii in 2003 and her 500 hour yoga teacher training from SID Yoga Center in 2011. She is also also a writer, writing mostly articles on health and fitness, yoga and motherhood.

I have been practicing under Melisa for over a year now, and feel she is a prime example of what all yoga teachers should strive to be. Under her guidance my yoga practice has greatly improved. I find I'm more clear and focused, and all around more productive in my everyday life. Melisa is an awesome yoga teacher and an amazing person.

As a yoga teacher, being a yoga student is such a joy especially when practicing with a joyful, talented, passionate teacher like Melisa. She lights up the room with her smile, she has the gift of bringing out the best in her students as she challenges you... And she gives the BEST adjustments! I only wish I could practice with Melisa more. I highly recommend Melisa for both private sessions and group classes.
