Maggie Rappaport

Phoenix, AZ 85013

I have been certified by the American Council on Exercise since 1990 and am a 1993 graduate of the University of Arizona. I formed the foundation of my expertise as a personal trainer at Naturally Women Fitness Center, which unfortunately closed in 2005. Since then, I enjoy training men and women of any age or ability, although I have a special affinity for developing fitness programs for seniors. Most recently, I have been developing a new exercise curriculum focusing on osteoporosis intervention.

Over my years of experience I have worked closely with special needs clients, including those who wish to make the transition from physical therapy to a regular exercise program, as well as clients with Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, cancer, osteoporosis, arthritis, diabetes, strokes, heart disease, and a variety of recovering injuries.

The most important step of putting a program together is to listen to my clients and find out where they are in terms of fitness goals and where they would like to be. I include the proper mix of strength, flexibility, cardiovascular, and balance training to help clients meet their specific goals. Although most of my clients would say they don't particularly enjoy exercising, most of them would tell you they have learned something or enjoyed their personal training sessions.

I have completed training in Pilates and exercise intervention for early Parkinson's. I am also a member of the American Senior Fitness Association (ASFA) and the International Dance Exercise Association (IDEA).

I began seeing Maggie to assist with fitness and rehab from bilateral knee replacements. She worked wonders! I had more movement, no limping and overall felt great. She is very knowledgeable, fun and encouraging. A true professional and tailors the exercise to your needs.

I have been training with Maggie for 4 months. I chose her because she is well versed in the issues facing post menopausal women. She always has great suggestions for specific exercises that will help with my issues. I actually look forward to our sessions.

I recently completed a 10 week training program with Maggie focusing on developing better bone density. She was a real joy to work with. Maggie was friendly, knowledgeable, and very accommodating in meeting my schedule. Her enthusiasm is contagious.
