Dayton, OH 45419
I graduated from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, with a degree in Speech Communications/Public Relations. While there I played both intramural volleyball and softball and first found my love of lifting weights.
After I became a mom, I decided to work toward my certification as a personal trainer. I wanted a schedule that would be flexible so I could focus on my children. I earned my certification through ACE (American Council on Exercise) in 1997 and worked part time as a trainer until 2000. At that point, after the death of my second child, I did not keep up with the continuing education credits required to keep my certification and it lapsed. I decided to once again take the exam and passed once again in early 2013. Only 65% of candidates who sit for the exam pass it (according to ACE), so I am proud to say that I have accomplished that goal twice!
I have since started my own personal training business, Muscle Girls, LLC. I focus on women, though I do have a few male clients. I travel to people’s homes and places of business, train at various Country Clubs and gyms in the Dayton area. I am currently studying for my certification in nutrition through Precision Nutrition (precisionnutrition.com) in order to help clients through all aspects of their journey toward better health.
As a mother of 5 children, I know the struggles of losing weight, keeping it off, and getting back in shape. I truly love helping my clients and watching them achieve their goals.
