Kristy Sketeris

MONROVIA, CA 91016-2315

I am a mom to three amazing girls, and I am passionate about sharing my love of fitness with others. I have been teaching Stroller Strides® to women in the Monrovia/Arcadia area since 2007, and I have been offering Body Back® in 2010 to moms who've gone back to work. I am thrilled to see my young daughters already developing an appreciation for keeping their bodies active while having fun.

Kristy is definitely different than any other trainer I have ever had (and I have had now 4-5 others). She is down-to-earth, very intelligent, and self-motivated. She will make you self-motivated too. She is a real person-a wife, a mother, a friend a role model. She understands the challenges of busy life and post-pregnancy dehabilitation. She will work with you to give you tools to succeed, and unlike other trainers and diets, she teaches you how to life your life a little better so that your personal improvement/weight loss efforts are sustained.

For me, I slowly gained weight when I started my surgical residency. I then ballooned when I had to go on long-term steroids for a medical condition. When my health improved, I tried several different diets and about 5 different trainers. Maybe I lost 5 lbs? Then...I had a baby. When my son was about 6 months, I looked in the mirror, and I didn't recognize myself anymore. My EXTREMELY HARD wishing and complaining about my post-partum weight just didn't make the fat go away by itself (shocking, I know!). My mother, who also is a certified personal trainer, told me very simply, "You won't lose the weight until you really want to and until you find someone will work with you to find stuff that you are willing to incorporate into your normal life." She was completely right. Not long after that, I met Kristy through some mutual friends, and she invited me to her exercise classes (first Stroller Strides and now Body Back). In large part due to her motivation, excellent classes and diet advice, I have lost 70 lbs since coming home from the hospital with my son, going from a barely-can-zip size 14 down to a 4. I have changed my life. I have watched her change many other in the class too (even some of us who are really cranky in the early morning, me included!). Many of my patients have been inspired to start their own weight loss, and I hand out a lot of the advice Kristy gave me. Now that Kristy is taking private client, I will be referring not only my friends, but also my patients.

Kristy motivates me in a way that no other trainer can. She is always on top of the latest research regarding exercise and nutrition and whenever I need advice on either topic I am certain to consult her. I've been a client and taken part in her various classes over the course of several years and know that if I follow her program, results are guaranteed. I highly recommend her to anyone who is looking to get into shape, stay in shape, lose weight or in training for a specific event.
