Smart Bodies is an independent company that provides clients with comprehensive health and fitness programming. A certified and credentialed trainer, my primary goal is to empower individuals with the tools necessary to meet their health and fitness goals. By utilizing the principles of Applied Functional Science AFS there are no limits and endless successful avenues to condition, lose weight, improve posture and or prevent injury. My passion is to share this miracle with as many who are willing. However I do have a few specialty areas which include: women over fifty, injury prevention, corrective exercise, the mature adult and athletic performance.
I have an extensive background in many areas of health and fitness as listed in my profile. However, I believe the two most important components of a SUCCESSFUL, lifelong wellness plan are CONSISTENCY and keeping it FUN. I am dedicated to providing my clients with fitness programming that incorporates the latest research and best practice methods while keeping it fun.
In order to remain competitive and to improve my own physical preparedness, I utilize a personal trainer as well. What I do in the gym prepares me for the rigors and demands of competition, work, and commuting in the elements. Conditioning and strength training are the minimal prerequisites of successful performance and continued health. In addition to being a personal trainer, I run, swim, rock climb, kayak, and mountain bike in national athletic competitions.

I have known and worked with Katherine on and off over about 12 years and three locations. She is an outstanding trainer and really caring human being. She has special skills in working with the elderly and gets better results than any other trainers with whom I have had any experience. She is especially effective in bridging the gap following physical therapy. She works with the client to get the best results possible. She recognizes how far to go with her clients.

I am a new client of Katherine’s as my former trainer moved away. I had seen her in the gym working out with her clients and they always looked like they were having a lot of fun. When I saw one of her clients do the hula-hoop I was mesmerized and had to have her as my trainer. Katherine is great! When you are training with her you are working out but you are also learning at the same time, as well as having her complete attention. She is full of energy with an engaging personality and she makes you feel that your goals are not only important to you, but to her also. I have about 25 lbs to lose and I know that I will finally reach my goal.

I hired Katherine to be my personal trainer to help me regain muscle strength and tone and was so impressed with the new levels of energy and endurance I gained. She is extremely knowledgeable in anatomy and body bio-mechanics, and loves to figure out what is the best route to overall health for an individual, as opposed to the generic workouts you often see in trainers.
I highly recommend her to anyone, novice or experienced, for the journey to fitness.

I've known katherine for roughly 15 years, as a trainer and a friend. In both capacities she is truly outstanding. For the purposes of this review, her abilities as a trainer are unsurpassed and transcend anything else available. The term "personal trainer" really doesn't do her justice. Whether your objectives are to find someone to help you with getting healthy, getting fit, getting fitter or to prepare for an particular event, Katherine is without peer.
I was a competitive "team sport" athlete for the first part of my life and in my middle ages I set my sights on endurance athletics, first marathons, than triathlons. Katherine was instrumental in preparing me for my first marathon and triathlons and without her I would have never gone in to compete in multiple events including, without limitation, 10 Ironman triathlons. Now, after a couple of years off, as I prepare to do my my 11th Ironman, the first person -- the ONLY person -- I have turned to for training help is Katherine. No matter what your goal, you'd be wise to do the same.
