I am a dedicated personal trainer with over 9 years of experience. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Health and Fitness from Purdue University and am certified with The National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), American Fitness Professionals Association (AFPA) and CROSSFIT. I have had many opportunities in my professional career that include exercise specialist, group fitness instructor, and personal trainer in various settings such as private health clubs, corporate fitness centers, and community facilities. My background in anatomy, exercise physiology, biomechanics, fitness testing and screening techniques, and nutrition allow me to offer specifically customized programs for clients of all fitness levels.
I chose to become a trainer because I have a passion for educating and helping people achieve healthy, active lifestyles through coaching and relationship building. Seeing a long-lasting change in my clients' lives has been very motivating in my personal life and professional career.
I work with clients one-on-one or in small group settings. My tailored programs include weight training, cardiovascular endurance and flexibility conditioning aimed to reduce body fat and improve balance, coordination, and stability. These programs are customized to specific body types and client needs to achieve maximum results.
Being a mother of two young children, I realize the importance and challenge of maintaining a healthy pregnancy weight and returning to one's desired fitness level postpartum; therefore, I chose to obtain a Pre-Natal/Postpartum Exercise Specialist certification from the American Fitness Professionals Association to become a trainer who can be a resource for my client’s during pregnancy.
Being a recreational athlete, competing in local triathlons, road races, and benefit bicycle rides, has brought joy and reward into my life. Through friendly support and demonstration of proper technique to improve strength, agility, coordination, and balance, it is my objective to encourage people to make exercise an enjoyable part of their daily lives too. I enjoy the challenge of creating effective workouts that fit in with a person's distinctive lifestyle, schedule, and needs. I am dedicated to helping you accomplish your goals!
