I am passionate in my role as a a FITNESS PROFESSIONAL, leading others and sharing the love of dance, strength and flexibility training and overall fitness in both group and private sessions. I am a Licensed ZUMBA Instructor and lead group classes for ages 6-100! I am especially gifted at connecting with senior adults and am a Functional Aging Institute Certified Specialist (personal trainer for baby boomers and ages 65+) as well as a Certified American Arthritis Foundation Walk with Ease Program leader. Currently I lead "zoom-ba" virtual Zumba via Zoom platform. I teach Zumba in for Culver City's own Westside Extension program of West LA College and have been leading live classes weekly in Santa Monica at Clover Park. I am available to lead private, small or large group Zumba Fitness classes and just a good time regular dance party! (I have recent dj experience as a volunteer in Sept 2020 for a non-profit.

And here’s another thing I appreciate about Julie— she supports my accommodations. Due to foot surgery and other issues, I often have to modify the moves. She can roll with it, and the virtual platform allows me to not distract or mess up the other exercisers.

Julie’s classes provide not only the workout you’d expect with Zumba, but a wonderful caring energy that’s therapeutic for whatever might be ailing you at the moment. I also recommend her for a private virtual zumba-over-zoom class for a family or friends. We did a parents-and-preteens session that was a lot more fun than trying to get the kids to just talk.

I feel blessed to have found Julie's Zumba's classes when I was recovering from cancer. Her classes are super fun and she has a heart of gold--her positive, genuine caring energy is THE REAL DEAL. Julie is highly skilled and experienced, offering a balanced workout (warm up, cardio,cool down), along with any necessary modifications due to health condition or injury. Julie is the best! I love her Zumba classes. Julie is an exceptionally gifted instructor, and her workouts are the perfect mix of calorie burning high-energy exercise and a super fun dance party! Julie also has a lovely spirit that shines through in all that she does. I feel so vibrant and happy during Julie's class, and the glow remains for a long time after the workout.

Julie Schatz is such a superstar! I met Julie a few months ago in one of her addictive Zumba class and I'm wondering what I did before I found her! Certainly my prior exercise experience was not nearly as entertaining, freeing, and full of sweat! Julie empowers her students and supports them in finding ways that work for them. Her enthusiasm is infectious and her classes are incredibly satisfying. I love leaving her class, having just spent an hour listening to great music and moving my body, and realizing I just got a great workout while having so much fun. I love Julie's positive attitude and energy and I know if you try a class you'll be back!
