Joseph Vanderkooi

I have been a trainer since 2003. I have worked with clients from 9-72 years old, with diverse needs ranging from post rehab to sports conditioning. My studio allows me to offer 1 on 1 training at an affordable rate. Now available for virtual training on internet!
I successfully completed a 2,200 mile thru hike of the Appalachian Trail in 2017, and love to introduce people to backpacking to enjoy the outdoors while getting fit.

I first hired Joe as my personal trainer three years ago after I had my first baby. Joe helped me lose the 55 pounds I gained during pregnancy in just six months. I have had two more children since and he has whipped me back into shape after each pregnancy. Joe is very knowledgeable and great at what he does. He knows how hard to push me and is always careful to avoid injury. Joe is very punctual and reliable. He has never been late for a session and has never cancelled. This is important to me as I am a full-time working mom of three with limited time. Joe has a great personality and is fun to be around. I truly enjoy my workouts with Joe and highly recommend him.

I've worked out with Joe one-on-one and in groups for about five years. His workouts are varied and great for both cross-training and teaching me how to improve workouts on my own. He pays close attention to safety issues like proper alignment, appropriate weight for strength training, and accomodation for injuries.

Joe is a very good trainer, i highly recommend him. I have worked with him in group sessions and one on one & regardless of the sessions he is constantly paying attention to positions and moves to make sure you are doing the exercises correctly so you get max results.

*Correction to prior rating* I didn't realize the rating defaulted to 3 stars. Joe is definately a 5/5 STAR RATING!! =)

Joe is by far the best personal trainer I've ever worked with. I've been with him for over a year now and couldn't be happier with my progress in achieving my weight loss/strength goals. He is very affordable and also has a great personality which helps to make the session more enjoyable. He also structures a very personalized game plan for you and knows just how far to push you to get maximum results without overdoing it. He is very knowledgeable and I always learn something new when I train with him. I would definately recommend Joe to anyone looking to get in shape or just attain a healthier life.
