Jose Soto is an American Council on Exercise (ACE) certified personal trainer and a NESTA certified Physique & Figure Training specialist. He is also the founder and Co-Owner of NJ HIIT Fitness based out of Bloomfield, NJ. Jose has led an athletic lifestyle since age 10 playing team sports such as Soccer, Baseball, Basketball and wrestling. Throughout High School, Jose was also a member of the Marine Corps JROTC program in which he achieved top rank of Commanding Officer his Senior Year in 2003. Two days after his high school graduation, Jose joined the United States Marine Corps graduating with top honors as a Lance Corporal in September of 2003 at Parris Island, South Carolina. In 2006, Jose deployed to Iraq with the Marine Corps for 7 months and was assigned as a Vehicle Commander in a Convoy Security Team. Upon returning from his deployment and receiving an honorable discharge from the Marines, Jose completed his education from Rutgers University earning a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. Jose was hired by Rutgers Police Department in 2012 and shortly after decided to begin his current career as a Firefighter for the city of Millburn, NJ. While attending his fire training in the Essex County Police Academy, Jose received the Physical Conditioning Award for attaining the highest standards in Physical Training over Police, Correction and Fire recruits. In 2013, Jose decided to take his physical fitness experience and knowledge to help other people accomplish their health and fitness goals. He received his Personal Trainer Certification from the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and is currently also a Physical Fitness Instructor for Fire Academies throughout New Jersey. He is NJ HIIT's Police & Fire Candidate Coach where he trains State/City Police and Fire prospective recruits helping them achieve a greater score in their entry level physical fitness exams. Jose enjoys traveling especially to his homeland of Puerto Rico, dancing, working out, skydiving, motorcycles and spending time with his bulldog Bongo.
