JODI STOLOVE, M.S.
Ms. Stolove has been dancing since she was a child and has taught ballet, tap, jazz and ballroom dance for more than 25 years. A Cum Laude graduate of the University of Michigan with a B.A. in Dance and Education, her teaching skills have been enriched by her M.S. in Counseling Psychology. Originally from Hollywood, Florida, Ms. Stolove now resides in San Diego, California.
The Chair Dancing® Fitness concept was born, when as a result of a fractured ankle, Ms. Stolove taught dance classes while seated in a chair. Creativity born of necessity, resulted in her developing unique fitness programs combining the pleasure of exercise, dance, and music. Ms. Stolove trademarked the name Chair Dancing® Fitness to describe this new form of exercise, which delights people of all ages. Her library of DVDs now include 4 chair aerobic DVDs, 3 Strength Training DVDs, Chair Yoga, and Simply Stretch.
Chair Dancing® Fitness provides convenient and effective fitness routines done while comfortably seated. An alternative to high impact aerobics and gym workouts, Chair Dancing® Fitness improves muscle tone, flexibility and cardiovascular endurance. These medically sound programs are a new fitness option for active people or those whose physical condition, restricted mobility or age limit their participation in conventional forms of exercise.
Prominent health care facilities, including Kaiser Permanente Medical Centers, Harvard University Health Service, Eisenhower Medical Center, Scripps Clinic and the Mayo Clinic, offer this fitness alternative. The Chair Dancing® Fitness videos received a "Best Buy" award by Consumer Digest.
Chair Dancing® Fitness has been featured nationally on Today on NBC, CBS This Morning, The Howie Mandel Show, QVC and The Home Shopping Network and on News programs around the country. Ms. Stolove's creation has been acclaimed in publications including The Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, The Chicago Tribune, The Miami Herald, The Seattle Times, The San Francisco Chronicle, The Union Tribune Newspapers; Good Housekeeping, Redbook, Mature Outlook, Prevention, Vim and Vigor, Weight Watchers and Parade Magazines.
