About Jo: Living an active lifestyle and working in the fitness industry for over 8 years, Jo has worked with a variety of clientele. Her training philosophy can best be described as functional training. Her unique style of functional training develops the body for activities performed in one’s daily life. The main components of Jo’s functional training are core strengthening, balance, and improving flexibility. Before her training career, Jo was a high school science teacher and coach. She blends her teaching, coaching and athletic background into a unique training experience that is interactive and fun. Jo has trained a variety of individuals from the elderly to the college athlete. She helps each individual client feel comfortable, and able to meet their specific fitness goals. Jo has proven that dedication on her part, and her client’s, will ensure success! Jo has worked with clients improving flexibility and strength to enhance quality of life. She has experience with clients undergoing joint rehabilitation, and her unique style of training has proven success with individuals suffering with lower back pain. Many of Jo's clients are seeing benefits in their active live styles due to specific flexibility, plyometric and strength training programs. In particular Jo has many clients that are seeing improvement in their golf game. Having two children, Jo also has experienced the importance of pre and postnatal fitness. Familiar with many alternative exercises that woman can benefit from during pregnancy, as well as those that should be avoided. It is important to Jo to listen to her clients and to create a unique program that specifically addresses their needs. Skilled in sports conditioning, Jo's vast athletic experience also includes 2 years as an All-Conference soccer player at Division I, St. Bonaventure University, running several marathons as a Boston qualifier as well as placing as a top finisher in Olympic distance triathlons.
