Why come to me? Or more precisely, why have me come to you?
I'm not a person who's spent a lifetime being a fitness geek. Nope, I was the scrawny wimp in first grade who became the chubby wimp by third grade. I mean, who has to take remedial phys ed? Yeah, me.
And I'm not now a 20-something who has never had an ache or pain and can't imaging why anyone can't do 75 burpees a day. And some of you have chronic pain or health problems or an injury you're recovering from. So you need someone who understands and has learned how to help you be able to do everything you want to do in life, every single day. As a Certified Medical Exercise Specialist, I can bring that knowledge and empathy. As a certified QiGong instructor, I also bring mindfulness into motion. And I know that exercise can't be one size fits all and neither can nutrition. Both have to fit your lifestyle, your needs and your abilities.

    I've been a personal training client with Jo for over two years (usually doing co-sessions with a friend) and always really look forward to the sessions (on average once a week). She has helped me recover from back and hip injuries successfully and I trust her expertise in rehab protocols completely. For the regular training sessions, she always knows just how much to push without making the whole experience unpleasant! In fact the sessions are lots of fun and filled with good humor. I've recently started attending Qi Gong at her suggestion and love that as well. I highly recommend her.

    I´m very grateful to Jo because she has helped me immensely with chronic neck pain. I have several damaged discs in my neck and I cannot have surgery and tried physical therapy and strong pain killers as well as cortisone injections and none of that helped for more than a few weeks. Seeing Jo for two times a week for two years has been the best decision because I can manage my symptoms and have a better quality of life.

    Ive never used a trainer before…i love being active in the woods or fishing, but hate machines and fitness centers. Ive been with Jo for 6 months and it has been terrific. When she asked me my goal I said as a senior I don't want to kill myself with my chain saw. She said that this was her first such request but she could work with it!..My strength and balance are much improved, and Im at the lowest weight Ive been in 20 years…that is before tomorrows post holiday weigh in :(

    I have done personal training with Jo for over 2 years. She is a great motivator and very knowledgeable regarding diet and fitness. Jo is easy to work with and knows how to provide challenging workouts for her clients without risking injury or feeling too pushy. I truly enjoy my weekly sessions and appreciate the reasonable pricing and the privacy provided in Jo's Middleton studio.
