Every person has a starting point; however, his or her end points and goals may not be in sight. I work beside each of my clients to create and accomplish definitive and attainable goals. Together, we follow manageable progressions, celebrate small successes, and build confidence. I believe that we train our bodies to handle what daily life presents. And then some. We should always be prepared, ready, and willing. Moving, using, and coordinating our bodies enables us to develop strengths, define personal limitations, and cope with internal and external stressors.

I have always been conscious of the need to keep the old body in good working order. I like to mountain bike and backpack both of which requires a certain amount of fitness. Working out in a gym has always bored me to tears. The competition for equipment and mass of bodies does not give me incentive to continue. I have experience with a variety of workout techniques from jogging and Jazzercise to a full on personal trainer at $80/hour. I have been working out with Jess in her morning classes for about 2 years. All I can say is, who da thought I'd find this level of training in Pollock Pines! Jess works me to my max while at the same time providing options for others at a variety of levels and injuries. She is extremely knowledgable, focuses on all muscle groups and includes a good stretch/roll out period at the end. And it's fun! She is by far the best group trainer I have ever experienced! I hope some day to try her as a personal trainer!

Oh my goodness, where do I even start? Jessica Miller and Ali Brady are the absolute best! They are extremely knowledgeable in health and fitness and their classes are not only the most challenging classes that I've taken, but also the most FUN! The classes are small which gives them time to focus on each person individually. If you are doing something wrong, they will correct you. If they see that you are ready to go up to heavier weight, they will let you know.

I can't believe how much stronger I have become in the last year and a half. I can actually do push ups! Action Potential has truly changed my life for the better. I never dread going to class because we have a great time! So if you are like me and DREAD going to the boring gym or have a hard time self motivating, this place is for you.

Thank you Jess! You are the BEST!

This stuff works! For most weeks the past three years I’ve been participating in personal or group training sessions at Action Potential Fitness. Jessica Miller the owner and lead trainer has put together varied exercises that contain elements of aerobic, core, agility, balance, strength, and flexibility. I’ve noticed increased performance in all activities - road cycling, mountain biking, kiteboarding, and both off-road and trials motorcycle riding. I’m simply able to execute skills more effectively resulting in less fatigue and fewer mishaps. When things do go wrong and injury occurs, usually due to operator error, we’ve been able to adjust the program to work around the effected areas and make forward progress. More recently I joined several other studio members tracking calories consumed and exercise on MyFitnessPal.com. Having the direct data feedback and peer support on this program were essential to making consistent progress; no fads or gimmicks, just hard work and measured results. Over the past 75 days I lost 15 pounds and achieved results that match my best masters racing performances. I now consider these exercises and eating habits a part of my life, enabling this 50-something athlete many more years of fun and competition. I recommend a similar program for anyone at any level wanting to achieve and maintain an active life.

    Sincerely,

    Rick Kile

I have always considered myself "just a walker" because I never felt that strong. I was never much of an athlete and just assumed that was how I was wired. Turns out that I needed the right trainer to bring out my potential! I am never able to push myself as hard as Jess does. She is great at encouraging me and pushing me to see that I CAN do it. I love working out with her and always feel great. We only have 1 body in this life and we need to take care of it. Jess is the gal for the job. I HIGHLY recommend Jess!!

2 years after giving birth to my last child, I was 20lbs heavier then I was the day after I gave birth. I was so incredibly depressed and chronically fatigued. I had "tried" so many different things, bought equipment, bought programs, attended weight loss groups, bought shakes and meals, but I just couldn't stick to anything. Once again, I decided to try something new, a personal trainer, with hopes that maybe I'd have someone to be accountable to.

So the search for the right PT began. I am a researcher! I knew that I wanted a female trainer who was National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) trained, with a great reputation and reviews. I scoured the town, checked out references and validated credentials of the best the Placerville area had to offer, and found only one who fit the criteria: Jessica Miller.

I met with Jess in February for the first time, and right away loved her. I've had other trainers in the past, but none had ever been so knowledgable, sharing with me the how's and why's of the things we were doing. Jess bothered to get to know me, and spend a lot of time prompting me to *really* think about why I haven't been successful in my attempts to be healthy and fit before. She genuinely believed in me, and encouraged me in a way no one else had, and somehow managed to get me to start believing in myself too.

And then I joined her small groups! Which provided me with an even larger support system. Working out for the first time with other people who were more fit was overwhelming, but they were so incredibly supportive from the first minutes of class.

It's July now-and I'm down almost 20lbs, and have muscles I have never had! I have an amazing group of supportive friends I work out with 4 times a week at Action Potential. Even on the days I don't want to work out, I still show up because I would miss my girl time with my girlfriends. And I'm a better, healthier, stronger person for it.

As for Jess - she's pretty much changed my life by showing me how to change it myself! She's is an amazing person and now one of my closest friends. What she has created at Action Potential is so much more than just "working out", or going to group fitness classes with strangers. The clients of Action Potential are pretty amazing too. I would, and do, highly recommend Jess and Action Potential to anyone who is looking to change their life for the better.
