I have basically been an athlete since birth. Joining my first swim team at just 5 years old. Sports and fitness always came natural to me. However, after the passing of my mother in 1995 and several life changing personal and physical set backs, including being hit by a truck in 1999, I was unable to do most everyday things. After several surgeries, my weight skyrocketing to 187lbs, and countless physical therapy sessions, I was unhealthy and unhappy. In 2009 I began my journey back to health by joining a group of ladies working to together with a trainer, with them I fought through every set back, every injury and every comment of you cannot do this anymore. Rising like a Phoenix from the ashes I never looked back. Always a sprinter, I challenged myself to do more. Finally completing several 5k and obstacle races like Warrior Dash. Feeling as if I could never properly repay what my trainers have done for me I decided to pay it forward and show people of all ages and injuries that you can come back from just about anything as long as you put your whole heart into it. I knew whole life I wanted to be a teacher, but wasn't sure of where or how, so I finally realized this is what I meant to do. So I stepped out from behind the admin desk and into the gym. I attended the American Academy of Personal Training in NYC, where I earned my Certified Personal Training Diploma from the Academy, a Certificate of Personal Training from the National Academy of Sports Medicine, as well as a Certificate of Academic Distinction from NASM. I am a proud American and volunteer for United for the Troops and Boy Scouts of America. Leading my scouts in a healthy lifestyle. Over the last several years in keeping with my dreams and passion I earned my Youth Exercise Specialist Certification. So I can properly train children of all ages and lead them off the video games and into healthy habits of physical activity. Always looking to improve I am currently working on my Corrective Exercise Specialist Certification to bring my client's results and my business to the next level. I love sharing my knowledge and passion for life and fitness with everyone by teaching several group exercise classes. Primarily I train clients in a one on one, or in a small group setting. I work with men, women and children of all different ages and fitness levels. Focusing on Functional Movement, Cardiovascular Training, Strength & Conditioning, Building Lean Muscle, Core Strength, Flexibility, Weight Loss and Sports & Obstacle Training.
