Professionally, I am a biomechanics/ movement/ and health geek. Corrective exercise and getting people to performance level fitness are my passions. Tie these two together with some life coaching (eat well, sleep well, balance one's life, and find ways to reduce stress) and you get a perfect combination to battle America's sedentary disease crises.

"Nobody cares how much you know, until they know how much you care."
~Theodore Roosevelt

The above quote communicates a professional and personal attitude that is very important to me. Many members of my family, friends, clients, and even myself have been let down more times than helped by many health care professionals (doctors, surgeons, chiropractors, etc). Though miracles should never be expected by any professional, I believe that anyone who works with clients or patients should be willing to produce the best results possible for them, even if the professional needs to dig deeper, research more, try new methods, or refer out. (In other words, health care professionals should care and fight for their clients!)

Personally I enjoy studying history, science, religion, news, cooking, and much more. I try to live a balanced life of friends, fun, good movement, healthy food, and plenty of time with the family.

I have worked with Jason for a year and a half. Jason has a passion for helping others improve their health through both diet and exercise, but he takes it one step further by helping you to understand the mental aspects of changing bad habits, as well. Change is difficult—but Jason has the patience and motivation to help you make it happen. Jason not only demonstrates how to do exercises, but explains why you are doing them. His never-ending encouragement and enthusiasm make it easier to “give it all you got.” In addition, Jason constantly does research on his own time to try and identify ways to deal with issues related to my fitness and health, something he does for all his clients. Jason truly cares for his clients, and you will never find another trainer with as much enthusiasm for his job and care for his clients as Jason.

I started working with Jason a year ago October on a friend's recommendation. While Jason has helped me to get more healthy and fit, that is only the beginning of what he has done for me. Over and over throughout the time we have worked together, Jason has gone the extra mile and made it his mission to look at the big picture of my health and fitness and figure out the best work outs for me, keeping in mind my limitations at any given time, such as an arthritic knee, an ankle with 10 screws and a plate in it, a pulled ham string, etc. In addition, Jason is always aware of my emotional mood, recognizing when I need to "punch some stress out" on the punching bag before I am "ready" to do the planned workout. His is continually doing research on his own time to try and identify ways to deal with issues related to my fitness and health, something he does for all his clients. He always "goes above and beyond" because he truly cares. You will never find another trainer with so much enthusiasm for his work and care for his clients.

I was fortunate enough to work with Jason for over a year and a half and would still be working with him had we not moved from Ames. I'm a 'senior' who initially needed his help to recover from a back injury and subsequently to regain core strength as well as strength in my arms and legs. He knew exactly how to challenge me and improve my strength without causing additional injury. He is a true professional - kind, thoughtful, always prepared, and very knowledgeable. He has my highest recommendation!

Jason is a great trainer and motivator. Very knowledgeable, inspiring, enthusiastic, helpful, kind and very intuned to the needs of his clients. I had him 1st as a one-on-one trainer and then as a Group fitness trainer in a Basic Training class. He motivated me to strive to be more fit and healthy. I'm not to my personal goal yet--but I'm on my way, and I will get there because of the training I received from this remarkable young man.
I will miss his infectious smile at the gym.
Best of wishes to you Jason and to your family in your new future.

Jason has been great to work with. He is always smiling and encouraging me to work to my full potential. He takes the time to individualize workouts. I have areas of weakness due to a car accident, he helps strengthen those areas while at the same time understanding limitations. He will be missed.
