Jackie is the wife of Sgt.Maj. (Ret) Jay Field, mother of Trevor and Samantha. She is known as “Oma” to Jack, Scarlet, Liam and a baby girl on the way!
Jackie started her practice on the mat due to injuries as a gymnast, cyclist and fitness fanatic. The wonders of yoga taught her to slow down and love this physical body we depend on.
A badly crushed foot in a cycling accident gave her the gift of meditation. “If I could just move the pain from my foot to the bottom of the bed, I could extend the time lapse before taking my pain meds. This got me off them weeks before the doctors thought. When they asked me how I was doing this, I told them I was meditating. Their response was a very telling ‘hummm’.” Jackie’s Meditation Workshop “How To Meditate, Let Us Count The Ways” in the studios and in the work place have always been very successful.
Cancer tested her meditation practice and gave her a brand new perspective on life and her yoga practice. Jackie was always willing to do what her mentors asked but, “when it came to changing my diet based on Ayurvedic principles? Well that was hard. Avoid broccoli and cabbage! Come on! The more I ate according to my dosha, the better I felt. Score another one for my mentor Jeanne Heileman. Yoga can be so much more than an asana and meditation practice.”
