I started training with Ian in early April, 2017. I knew from the beginning that we would get along. He has a great personality and is very well suited for what he is doing.

Ian first started by sitting me down and just asking me about what my goals were, medical history, etc. We discussed my commitment level to those goals and he very politely told me that he could give me the map but I had to drive. I appreciated his candor. I knew that he was going to push me how I needed to be pushed as long as I kept trying my hardest.

For the first few months, Ian rode me pretty hard. Good, I needed that. We even joked that one day he tried to kill me with doing the battle rope exercise. We still get a good laugh about that day but that was one of the days that remind me that I can do more than what I think I can do. That's what a good trainer does - reminds you that your mind will quit before your body.

I also appreciate Ian's blogs. He's not afraid to just say what needs to be said with his "Body by Knight" philosophy. It's very easy to just eat fast food all the time but Ian shows ways to not get into that trap. His blog takes on different subjects, all of which I've found useful. We've even discussed them while working out. That's something else a good trainer has - well rounded knowledge.

Months later now I've lost 25 lbs., several fat percentage points and gained lots of muscle. My blood pressure has dropped and my A1C (diabetes) is low enough where I'm about ready to get off my medication. Ian's exercise programs have allowed me have to buy new belts to hold up my pants, which are also ready to be replaced with new, smaller waist ones. I'm able to lift heavier, do more cardio and generally just feel better about myself. I try to just shrug it off when people tell me they can tell I've lost weight or look better, but inside the fat kid is celebrating my success.

Ian's constant communication with me and positive encouragement has helped me keep on track. It's very easy to skip the work, but it'll get you nowhere in a hurry. Ian's commitment to you is only as much as your commitment to yourself. He has a good sense of who is really trying to do better and give the right words or actions to help you along. If you are going to "half-ass" being his client, please don't waste his time. He is too talented and other people need his guidance.

If you are thinking you need help because you are finally ready to hit that goal, whatever it may be, and you want someone to walk with you on your journey, I can't think of anyone else I'd want to walk beside me than Ian Knight. Take my advice, not for me, not for Ian, but for yourself and finally fulfill those promises you've made to yourself. We are all works in progress and change takes time but I know someone who will give you the support you need.
