A history of obesity prompted my interest in health and fitness and I have maintained my weight loss for over 35 years. I am an ACE Gold Certified Personal Trainer, ACE Certified Health Coach, AFAA Certified Instructor, Lisenced Zumba Instructor and current in BLS. I created and actively managed the Community Health Department for over 9 years and then started and actively managed the Cardiac Rehabilitation Department for 8 years at a local critical access hospital. I believe in giving back and as such, I have co-coordinated the Dixville Half-Marathon, a local fundraising USATF half-marathon and relay race and also run it. Additionally, I am a long standing member of the National Weight Registry and the Sister Study. My goal is to help others "be the best they can be."

Life gets bigger with Fran. For so many aging seniors, life gets smaller. But I bet I say, ‘Thank you, Fran’ a dozen times a day —like when I climb the stairs with a heavy bag of groceries, when I lift the very large spaghetti pot off the highest shelf in the kitchen, when I jump from the boat up onto the dock to tie up, when I crawl under the table finding puzzle pieces for the grandchildren. The benefits of Fran’s classes— feeling stronger and being more fit and flexible— cannot be underestimated. Everyday life improves.

In the opening minutes of her classes, Fran generously shares what she’s learned from her insatiable quest for scientific proof of the importance of exercise. She challenges us to memorize her fun dance-like exercise sequences, to keep our brains healthy, reminding us constantly of the importance of exercise in improving brain function.

I feel safe in saying all of us in Fit4Evah are truly grateful for Fran’s classes. We have been part of her program when it originated at the Rec Center, and then morphed into Zoom classes last May, due to Covid. We committed to the online classes, and 14 months later, no one has dropped out. That says so much. And during that time, we have also become good friends. I feel personally accountable to my fellow Fit4Evahs, to show up every Wednesday and Friday.

One of my biggest fears in getting older, is not letting the ‘old woman in.’ Fran won’t let that happen. So one more, ‘Thank you, Fran.’ I would whole-heartedly recommend Fit4Evah for anyone who’s hoping to maintain an active lifestyle in their later years.

I have been in one of Fran's fitness classes for the past four years. She is fantastic and has helped me become more fit and knowledgeable about having a healthy lifestyle. Our cohesive group is a result of Fran's positive attitude and highly effective leadership.

Fran Bigney has been my personal trainer for about eight years. During that time, I have lost 20 pounds and gotten in the best shape of my life! She is my secret weapon to health and fitness, and aging as gracefully as possible (I am 66 years old.) She helped me to begin running, to the point where I enter 5Ks with enthusiasm. Fran tirelessly pursues education to constantly improve her knowledge and competency to help others achieve their goals and create new ones. I take several of her classes, as well. I cannot recommend her highly enough!

Physically I feel the best and strongest I ever have and I account that to Fran. I look forward to attending her classes each week and love the group atmosphere. Everyone is very supportive of each other. Fran you are the best and I am so happy to be a part of your classes! Here’s to a healthy New Year.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Fran for her positive energy and genuine concern for others and their health. Fran's classes have motivated me to get back to a more active lifestyle. I began taking Fran's classes a little over a year ago. It was the positive motivation I needed to start taking better care of myself. I look forward to my classes with Fran every week and I really appreciate her professionalism and dedication to helping others. She is very knowledgeable in her field and her exercise classes make working out fun! If you're looking for a fun, inspiring, non-judgmental exercise instructor, Fran is the one for you!!! I would highly recommend any of her classes to anyone. It's never too late to start taking care of yourself!!! Join one of Fran's classes today. You'll be glad you did!! Thanks a lot Fran for all of your encouragement!!!!
