I have worked with Eva for more than a year. At the outset I honestly didn't think I would want to work with a personal trainer for more than, say, three or four months; in fact I was doing it because my wife wanted to in order to achieve her own goals, and I went along. The fact that I have continued so long (my wife stopped long ago, after Eva helped her reach her targets) is testament to how much I have progressed -- and, more important, how much I have learned.
Through a skilled, careful assessment of how I moved various joints, Eva quickly isolated two areas that needed a lot of work. One was a shoulder where, years before, I had frozen shoulder syndrome; so I knew this was a problem area. The other was a striking weakness in my right calf that I didn't realize existed and had no explanation for. I subsequently (at her suggestion) had the problem evaluated by neurologists at the Palo Alto Medical Clinic, who confirmed that there was an issue but also had no explanation for it and, other than spinal surgery, no very good recommendation for treatment.
Eva put together a program that would slowly increase mobility in the shoulder and strength in the calf, as well as in upper body, lower body and core muscles and joints, along with a great focus on balance and integration of vision and the vestibular system. She came to each session with a complete plan, always incorporating new movements and new things she had learned. At the same time, she started each session assessing where I was and, if there were issues with a particular muscle or joint that day, she modified her plan on the spot to incorporate work that would address it. I was constantly amazed at how quickly she was able to come up with variations of movements that would address specific problems. She would try one of these, and immediately assess whether it was working -- if not, she would modify it on the fly, and was unfailingly able to find ways to make reduce pain and increase range of motion. Her incorporation of the techniques she learned through Z-Health was especially successful. This is a remarkable set of tools that I know I will continue to use.
At this point I have regained perhaps 90% of the strength in my calf and my shoulder problem has all but disappeared, and she's got me walking my 10,000 steps pretty much every day. I had no idea at the beginning how bad my balance was, and improvement there has been remarkable as well. Oh, and I've lost 30+ pounds along the way! I am a total fan of Eva, and recommend her without reservation.

I have been training with Eva for about six months. I first came to her because I was diagnosed with RA and was determined to lose weight and build strength. She is an amazing trainer--her programs are completely doable, but she constantly modifies them building upon what we've done, but also making them fun and different (which is great for me as I tend to get bored). She is so knowledgeable about body mechanics, and also diet. Because of my work with Eva, I've lost 35 pounds, am infinitely stronger, and don't have to take any medication for RA anymore. My doctor is so impressed by my progress, and it is due in large part to Eva's training. I'm so grateful to her for helping me get to a better, healthier life.

I started training with Eva for my wedding and then kept training because Eva makes the next goal so achievable. Not only is every session planned in advance if something's not feeling good that day, Eva can switch gears to work something else. Only meeting once a week isn't a problem because Eva gives out homework assignments in email with pictures of the exercises! Usually only one or two moves with extras if I feel like more, so I'm never overwhelmed. Who of us can ever remember those things when we get home?! Every session is different you won't get bored here!

I am very grateful that Eva was my personal trainer. I started going to Body Pump classes with her and then added personal training sessions. I had been trying to loose 5-10lbs on my own for over a year. I then began gaining information and support from Eva She helped me see the importance of being consistent with both diet and exercise. She was encouraging and well prepared at every session. She was very flexible around my work schedule. I changed my goal once I started seeing results and I ended up loosing 25lbs! I couldn't have done it without her. She gave me great workouts to do at home. She had me log my food and gave me great advise on making changes. I now feel empowered to continue having a healthy lifestyle. She is an amazing trainer. She couldn't have been more professional and encouraging!

I joined Eva's exercise class more than 5 years ago, and have benefited a great deal from her guidance. Eva takes her time to know her client; she worked with my strengths and weakness, helped me set realistic goals and then worked with me to successfully reach them!
Eva has an excellent understanding of anatomy, and she translates that knowledge into a practical, safe highly effective exercise program. Her classes were varied and dynamic, never dull and repetitive.
The best thing I would say is with the gains I made in Eva's class, I have become more energetic and more physically active than ever before!
