If you're like me, you take the time to keep an active lifestyle. You also probably strive to make the wisest nutritional choices available to you on a daily basis. For all of your efforts, what you hope for is an abundance of energy, wellness, and to be comfortable in your own skin. I, like many people, have struggled with my weight and body image most of my life. It was not until the last couple of years that I made it to that "aha moment" (thank you, Oprah) in my mind that made me realize a few vitally important things. It is what you do for your body through fitness that makes you physically and mentally strong. It is what you put into your body through nutrition that makes you physically and mentally healthy. It is the acceptance and understanding of both these things that enables you to create a long-term, loving relationship with your body and mind. Lastly, and most importantly, it is the combination of all these pieces that makes you the very best version of yourself you can be. Why "Beets Per Minute"? Well, the truth is, I love beets. They are one of the vegetables I promote the most to people when I am asked about nutrition. I also love exercise and mostly LOVE exercising to music. Get it? Yeah, I know you do. What I hope to accomplish through Beets Per Minute is to share my personal experience with nutrition and fitness, my thoughts and feelings about issues we all struggle with, some of my (mostly) favorite things, and hopefully (most importantly) to gain a thing or two from all of you. I have been a fan of lifestyle blogs for the past several years and have learned many things from each and every one of them. I only hope I can do the same for others.
