Anatomy and alignment are the bases for my movement teaching and practice. I have over 600 hours of yoga teacher training and workshops, from Vancouver Yoga Center, Yoga Kula Berkeley, and the YogaWorks 300-hour professional program. I have taught in multiple settings: yoga studio, hospital, and fraternal association. I also teach private yoga sessions.
I am a proud member of ZIN, the Zumba Instructor Network. While I am not yet ready to teach classes of my own--due to a six month yoga teacher training committment, I know I will not be able to give a new Zumba class the dedication required--I would be thrilled to "mini-sub" a song or two in an existing class.
As a yoga teacher and fitness professional, I constantly strive to increase my knowledge and expertise. I am also a life coach trained by Coach University. In addition to the upcoming YogaWorks training, in September I will take my AFAA group fitness instructor exam, and in the spring I will sit for the ACE group fitness exam.
My extensive teaching experience in university-level Spanish, American Red Cross CPR, and as a TestMasters LSAT instructor has given me a broad background in educational methods and theory, which I use to make sure that every student gets what he or she needs.
