My passion in life is to educate, motivate, and inspire individuals to adopt a healthy lifestyle. My biggest strength is that I don’t merely teach – I LIVE THE LIFE! Health, fitness and wellness are at the top of my life priorities, and I love bringing that world to others. I am a personal trainer, nutrition consultant, and corrective exercise specialist, operating in the Long Island fitness community for over 7 years, holding certifications with the American Council on Exercise (ACE), the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), and the American Association of Sports Dietitians and Nutritionists (AASDN). My extensive knowledge of anatomy, kinesiology and biomechanics allows me to provide a more comprehensive fitness experience than that of a typical trainer. I am currently the official fitness consultant for Zwanger Pesiri Radiology, where I perform postural assessments & movement screens, teach nutrition classes, and administer personal training for individuals of all ages and fitness levels.     I have never thought I needed a personal trainer. I have read weight training books, have taken classes on it in college, and have always felt no one could push me harder then I could push myself.

    I was wrong! Derahn seems to know at what point I am about to give up. He always has me push a little bit further then I would on my own.

    I like how he starts each session with "What hurts?" If something does then he is careful to not do exercises that might stress or aggravate that muscle or body part.

    He seems to have new exercises every time I work out. This keeps it interesting, and challenging.

    My results have been almost as dramatic as those seen in the commercials on TV. I feel almost as strong as I did when I worked out 3 - 4 hours a day back in high school, 20 years ago!

    I see him as someone who really cares about me. He wants to help me be the best I can, always paying attention to even the little things I am doing, making sure I am always getting the most out of each and every exercise. Not talking to other people, looking at his phone, or looking around, but as focused on me as I am on the exercise. He is interested in diet and sleep patterns, but doesn't comment on diet to point of chastising.

    I have been training with DeRahn for 1 year now. I enjoy every day that I work out and hate to miss a day. I work out with him 3 times a week for an hour each time.
    DeRahn pushes you to do more than you think you can do, but not farther than he knows you can. He motivates and leads by example. He tailors my workout plan for my specific needs and goals based on my abilities, weaknesses and desire for change.
    Even though his workouts are challenging, I was hooked the very first time. In the last year I have lost inches, seen more muscle and can do things that I never though I would be able to do. I have seen an improvement in my day to day life and have become much stronger than ever. I am a 42 year old woman and I can now do full push ups! I can do rows with weights that rival the men and I have such self confidence because of it!
    I would highly recommend DeRahn as a personal trainer, he has enirely changed my life and the lives of my family. I couldn't do it without him or say enough to express my true gratitude.

    DeRahn is an amazing and inspiring trainer/person. He always pushes me to endure various challenging strength exercises just when I think I can't. In addition to being motivational, he is extremely knowledgable about what he does and I learn so much from him every time I come for a session. He makes sure he chooses numerous exercises/skills tailored to my overall plan. With each visit, I feel stronger and smarter about my body/mind and the decisions that I will make to continue to improve my body/mind. I am so appreciative to have met a talented trainer who takes tremendous time, care, and energy with his clients. Because of him, I am stronger physically and mentally and I see the results. Derahn is awesome! I highly recommend him as a solid trainer and a positive asset to your life!

    When I first started training with DeRahn, I was worried that it would be something I wouldn't like to do 3 times a week, or something that would be hard for me with my busy high school schedule. But once I started training regularly with him I immediately loved it! I always look forward to going in to the gym to train with him, and I hate missing one day. He is very good at what he does, and he is very passionate about it. I always have fun in the gym and you'll always see me smiling, even when the exercises are tough. DeRahn does an amazing job as a trainer because he makes sure to push you enough so that you get results. He is inspirational and positive, and I am so glad to have him as my trainer!
