My name is Cody Brownson and I’ve been transforming peoples lives for years now as a personal trainer, bootcamp instructor, and an instructor at OrangeTheory Fitness. I specialize in group training and in-home training. I also do some speed training with young athletes who want to increase their speed and agility. Why I Became A Trainer: Fitness has always been a love of mine. I remember having dumbbells beside my bed and doing curls and such before going to sleep even when I was around 12 haha. Since I had this love for it at a young age, I started going to the gym by myself as soon as I was able to. But even with the excitement I had, I remember I felt a little overwhelmed. There was so much more to working out then I ever knew before entering into that gym. The different ways to workout the same muscles, what muscles to do on what days together, how many reps do I need to do, how many sets, whats the correct form on every exercise?? It was a bit much. So I stayed off to the side avoiding the popular parts of the gym. Last thing I wanted to do at that age was go and embarrass myself in front of a bunch of jacked people. I would learn new exercies by watching others across the gym and by reading or looking at the description some of the machines would have on them. Eventually, I started to get the hang of things and even had friends that would workout with me. After doing research and leaning a lot, my love for fitness quickly merged with my passion to help others. I found myself spending entire workouts helping others there around my age and inviting friends that didn’t know how to workout but wanted to. I noticed myself getting excited and pumped up when I would see someone that was struggling but would keep pushing. It was around that time that I knew I wanted to be a personal trainer. At 19 I was in college, working at a supplement store, and an instructor at a fitness boot camp. The guy who owned the boot camp was one of the best trainers I know and taught me a ton! I ran one of his locations by myself and eventually was doing 20-25 boot camp sessions a week on top of one-on-one training. The passion and love for it still hasn’t gone away. I hope to help many others reach their fitness goals.
