I started personal training with Chris in November 2014 and started taking his TRX class at the YMCA of the Seacoast after developing a pinched nerve in my neck due to training for a 1/2 Ironman. I was pretty unhappy having to give up the run, bike, swim training in order to really heal the pinched nerve. Within two weeks, I was completely pain free...I could not believe how quickly I had relief from the neck pain and could sleep through the night again. My point being, Chris is extremely in tune with his client's needs and physical limitations so as to not do further damage while doing personal training or TRX.
As with Megan's review below, Chris did a thorough assessment of me prior to beginning the personal training and developed a progressive program meant to strengthen my body, tone, increase balance and flexibility, stamina & power. In addition to the training, Chris was and continues to be available to answer any questions I have regarding the training and why I am doing a particular exercise, health & nutrition. Chris is extremely flexible with my ever changing schedule due to my travels out of the area.
I am currently working with Chris again via personal training at the Exeter YMCA. I would not want to go to any one else for personal training, unless of course Chris recommended that person.
If you are considering personal training, I highly recommend Chris. He is challenging, it is hard, it is worth it! You will not be disappointed!!
Oh, and as a side note, I have lost 20 pounds and hit my goal weight recently. It's not about the compliments I receive, but it is extremely rewarding when you know you are putting in the hard work and you have a trainer who is as extremely thrilled with the results because of the shared commitment.

I did approximately 16 training sessions with Chris from April 2015 to January 2016 at the Seacoast YMCA. Middle-aged and a fair-weather jogger and Zumba frequenter, I came to Chris because I had a goal of losing 10 pounds and strengthening my body. During my first session, Chris did a thorough assessment of my gait, balance, and overall body strength. Over the course of the next 10 months, he designed a series of exercise sets for me to strengthen my core and the muscles in my back, legs, and arms. Chris made sure we did a variety of activities--core, balance, agility, resistance training, and plyometrics, as well as stretches on the foam roll. Because I was new to strength training, I appreciated the time Chris took to answer my questions about why we were doing certain types of exercises. He sketched out specific exercises to help me remember what each one was on the back of my exercise sheet; later, he used the video capability in his iPhone to take 8-10 second videos of me doing a specific exercise so that I could watch it at home when I was working out. I met my weight loss goal, my core is markedly stronger, and I now feel confident when I do strength training. Thanks, Chris!
