My name is Caleb Kinney-Woods, and I am the Assistant Fitness Manager and Master Level Personal Trainer at Prestige Fitness in Arvada, Colorado. I have a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Kinesiology and Health from Iowa State University.
In 2010, I decided to dedicate my life to improving the health and wellness of others shortly after finishing my two year stint playing junior college football at Iowa Central Community College. To be completely honest, I didn't know what life would be like after football, but I did know that if I wasn't going to keep playing sports, then I was going to help others improve their sports performance. I worked hard for the next three years at Iowa State in the Kinesiology program to be the best coach and trainer possible.
After graduating from Iowa State, I moved to New Mexico with my fiancé and started my career by working as a personal trainer at New Mexico’s #1 health club Defined Fitness. Going through the hiring process was tough; I was overwhelmed with assessments, sales, and many other responsibilities that I wasn’t sure I could handle. Unfortunately, I assumed that a shiny degree would lead clientele straight to me; I couldn’t have been more wrong.
Shortly after starting at Defined Fitness, I realized that I was not going to be exclusively working with athletes. However, I began to appreciate every day, functional body movements, especially for people who have limitations or disabilities. I found my niche as a special population’s trainer in post-rehab, pre-rehab, weight-loss, and muscular dystrophy patients.
My goals always stayed the same; empower my clients to achieve their goals and improve their overall quality of life! My new direction has really paid off in 2014 and I was promoted to the position of Lead Trainer at Defined Fitness and shortly thereafter I was named Albuquerque's Best Personal Trainer by the Alibi. In 2016, my fiance and I decided to make the jump and move to Denver, CO. My sights are now set on helping the wonderful people in the Mile High City!!
Training has taught me to understand that my programs will never be perfect. Regardless of those imperfections, I work diligently to create programs that will always achieve client success and an improvement in overall quality of life, which is the most rewarding thing in the world.
It still amazes me that I get to do this EVERY FREAKING DAY!
