Bo Shappell

Thank you for visiting my page. I have a passion for health and fitness. I not only enjoy staying active but helping others lead a healthy and active lifestyle as well.

I am a high school health & physical education teacher at the Daniel Boone Area School District. I am also the co-founder of WE (wellness education) Integrated, co-author of ALL IN: The Mindset of Fitness (the book is geared towards adults who have counterproductive approaches toward fitness and their bodies. The book is available online at Amazon & Barnes and Noble), and an educational consultant & public speaker. I am the academic leader for creative arts and human performance within the school district, leader of districtwide social and emotional learning (SEL) initiatives, and have implemented numerous programs aimed at improving mental, emotional, and physical wellness for staff and students. I was awarded 2019 Pennsylvania Middle School PE Teacher of the Year. In 2021, I was a national finalist for Middle School PE Teacher of the Year. Most recently, I was the recipient of the 2021 SHAPE PA Professional Honor Award. This award recognizes a member who has demonstrated distinguished service and scholarship in the Health and PE fields.
