Andrea is amazing! I had a lot of old injuries including multiple knee surgeries, nerve damage, carpel tunnel and two ruptured discs in my back. I was very deconditioned, overweight and nervous about exercising let alone weight training. She took each one of my issues and adapted exercises and stretches to strengthen my base muscles. This increased my stability and strength helping to correct years of damage. I went from literally not being able to do an exercise to being able to do multiple reps with added weight. I also had a less than healthy relationship with food. Andrea gave me a plan with lists of foods to eat and portion examples. Throughout my training she gave me feedback and specific instructions to achieve my goals. Andrea was always encouraging me, and she continually broke through my perceived roadblocks.
She is smart, strong and kind. Truly the perfect trainer. If you need help to become healthy, you need to call Andrea she is worth every penny. Word of advice… if at first you don’t succeed do what Andrea told you to do the first time!

I was looking for a personal trainer to work with me on core strength and weight loss. I have always been active and strong as a runner, gym rat and snowboarder but over the years I kept gaining weight no matter what type of new class I would join or how much I exercised. I needed to find a fitness trainer to help me change my lifestyle in order to feel good about my body and be able to lose weight. I found Andrea Lane in searching for personal trainers in Carlsbad and right away I knew she would be helping me with more than just exercising and losing weight. Andrea encouraged me to make healthier lifestyle choices while working a program that fit with my work schedule. We started working on building strength in the places where my body lacked foundation. By following her nutritional coaching I learned healthier eating and meal planning habits. By following her strength training I began to feel stronger, more balanced and my posture improved. In just a couple months I saw improvement in my weight and measurements. The training facility Andrea uses is in great condition, offers a variety of new equipment and is clean and spacious. A few months after I started training with Andrea I found out I was pregnant but I decided to continue training with her and I am still training with her in my sixth month of pregnancy. I have no doubt that this was a good decision because I have no back or leg pain like my other pregnant friends and continue to feel stronger and more toned in my arms, legs and back. I think it is still important to pay attention to my eating habits and exercise while pregnant so it will be easier for me to lose weight after birth. Andrea keeps me motivated during my pregnancy to stay active and my program has continued to have an extremely positive impact on my energy levels and wellbeing. I plan to continue working with Andrea as long as my body will allow and look forward to restarting our program and keeping my weight down after I have my baby. I would absolutely recommend Andrea to all my friends and people in Carlsbad looking to make a lifestyle change.

I came across Andrea's personal training website at a pretty critical point in my life. After a Dr's visit, lab results showed High Cholesterol, Obesity and borderline Pre-Diabetes. Past work experience in the hospital and family history told me exactly how this story would play out if I didn't make some drastic changes in my life. That past year I had visited a nutritionist without seeing any results. I had also started exercising on my own, but due to inactivity experienced injuries setting me back further.

    Enter Andrea.

To call her a triple threat - personal trainer, nutrition coach and motivational coach - would be accurate, yet you'd only be scratching the surface. From the beginning she broke down monthly goals into attainable tasks involving fitness, nutrition, flexibility, education and personal motivation. Some months have been more successful than others, but reviewing what did and didn't work at the end of each month helped build goals for the next month. As a personal trainer and nutritional coach she curates a plan specifically for your body type, health and overall goals. She's never let up on me. And she's never let me get down on myself.

Working with Andrea I've lost 30lbs. I now exercise regularly and look forward to it. What I've loved so much throughout this process, is that she's reminded me - It Is A Process. I didn't get to the health stage I was in overnight, and health goals would not be achieved overnight either. While being incredibly supportive - She Pushed Me. Hard. But she worked me properly while getting over past injuries. Building strength, gaining flexibility, maintaining form. She knew just how much to push and listened, adjusting accordingly, when my body was telling me to let up.

She's made such an impact in my life. I truly could not recommend Andrea more as a personal trainer, fitness trainer or nutritional coach.

Andrea is very knowledgable about nutrition and fitness. She is passionate about what she does and it shows. She spent a lot of time customizing workouts for me and also giving me a new nutrition plan. I feel stronger after working with her for the last few months, I am less tired and more motivated to get my exercise in every day. Thank you Andrea!

I was referred to Andrea Lane by a younger and very fit woman who has been working with Andrea as her fitness trainer for several years. She described the grueling workouts that Andrea developed for her, so it was with trepidation that I first met with Andrea to describe my fitness goals and to begin the baseline assessment. I am certainly not capable of doing what I used to do 20-30 years ago.

I quickly learned that Andrea has the patience, knowledge and skills to work with individuals of all ages and fitness levels. I am very appreciative of Andrea's effectiveness with my limited abilities. Andrea is never judgmental about my limitations. I also like that she pushes me to try exercises that challenge me enough to keep me progressing and improving my overall fitness.

Andrea has now been my personal trainer for about six months. I have been very impressed with her depth of knowledge. In addition to being a fitness professional giving advice and instruction on exercises, she has provided guidance as a nutritional coach, reviewing my food intake and over the counter supplements. Under Andrea's direction, I have lost weight, decreased my body fat and increased my muscle mass. Andrea’s coaching in better nutrition and more effective exercise has improved my overall health. Her guidance helped me to reduce my cholesterol levels and eliminate one of my cholesterol lowering medications. She is encouraging when I succeed, understanding/tolerant when I slip and motivating when I am back on track.

She also has developed customized and specific training programs for fat loss, muscle development and strength building. I also like that she welcomes feedback. Because she listens and incorporates my comments into the next series of exercises I know that the programs are tailored specifically for me.

She has an encyclopedic repertoire of exercises in her brain! If I find a particular exercise too easy, she has dozens of modifications to that exercise or proposes different exercises to challenge me. If the exercise is too hard, she offers ways to make it manageable while I work on developing the strength to tackle the initial version she suggested. She has incredible observational skills. She can detect my flawed technique immediately and advise me how to make adjustments to make the exercise most effective. She is diplomatic in correcting my technique.

I truly enjoy working with her. I highly recommend Andrea as a trainer for anyone in the San Diego area. She is an amazing professional.
