Personal fitness to me in not solely about looking a certain way. Instead it is about starting to find and do the things that one has always aspired to do. My favorite goals for people are ones that have nothing to do with something in the gym. They are the ones like wanting to be able to play catch for a half hour with their kids in the yard without getting winded. Or wanting to be able to go out hiking with their friends instead of going out to eat. If you can be challenged to be your best with me for 30 or 60 minutes, your will find that your everyday activities and adventures will become much easier and more enjoyable.
I have became a NASM Certified Personal Trainer because I grew up in an athletic and active environment where sports were every night after class. Once high school soccer practices were behind me I had to learn how to be an active adult and that is when I found a passion for weight lifting and endurance running. It didn't just happen right away. I had a family friend who gave me a ticket to the 2014 Tough Mudder as a graduation present. So for many months prior to the race I had to teach myself how to train, run and think like an athlete again. When I finished that run I realized how proud I was of myself and what I was capable of doing with the right motivation and people to support me. Since then, I have been able to connect with many other people who have that same drive for fitness and adventure as I do. I think the biggest part of my journey in fitness hasn't been about the gym itself; instead it's about having a healthy, confident, and strong body that lets me do whatever I dream of doing; and let me say, I dream of doing a lot!
