I moved to Snohomish County from Alaska in July 2014. While fitness and healthy eating have been an interest of mine for several years, I've only really started to understand the fundamental aspects of both and how they work together in the past two years. My passion for healthy living grows every day and I am always happy and excited to answer questions and talk about ways to improve our quality of life. While I have never been an overly heavy person, I'm 5'1 and have struggled with weight loss and gain for most of my life. I had little to no knowledge about balanced diets or macronutrients in high school and was not a particularly active person growing up. I have struggled with apathy and depression for a significant portion of my life. My social network was primarily people who enjoyed eating fast food and playing video games or having Netflix marathons. All of these factors contributed to a lack of positive change. Making incremental adjustments over the course of many years has helped me become a healthier person. I want to be a support to help others make the same adjustments. No one is perfect. I still struggle with consistency at times and sometimes find it difficult to prioritize workouts amid the chaos of life. Building a healthier lifestyle is a process, not a goal. There will always be obstacles on any journey. You have not failed simply because you get stuck somewhere for a little while.
