Amber Prince

Marlborough, MA 01752

Amber studied psychology before beginning a career in business management for a family recreational complex. A history of playing sports and teaching swimming during her school years inspired her to spend her post work evenings coaching JV and Varsity high school Field Hockey. It was her love of helping athletes improve their skills and physical conditioning that led her to pursue a career in personal training. She has continued to expand her knowledge through education and research and this enables her to offer the best in training for her clients. Her approach to training is comprehensive and client-based with a focus on meeting goals by building a strong movement foundation. As a mother of two young children she knows the difficulty of balancing a healthy lifestyle in today's fast-paced and busy environment.

I started seeing Amber at AP Fitness because I was tired of feeling "blah" all the time. Her classes are most definitely the opposite of blah. She doesn't use a templated workout, but instead builds it based on who's in class so that no two workouts are the same. Sometimes we even move the workouts outside when weather permits.

I take advantage of the group classes, where there's lots of laughter - bonus abdominal workout! Since the class sizes are small, Amber provides individualized attention to make sure that proper form - including rolling before and after class - has just as much focus as exertion and reps. She's got an amazing knowledge of how the body works, and also provides guidance on how to (re)train muscles to behave properly without compensating for other muscles or causing injury.

One benefit that I wasn't expecting, but absolutely appreciate, was a boost in confidence. When I first walked into AP Fitness, I thought, "oh, I can't do that…nope, can't do that one either…don't even understand how that thing works…can't…" But, by having confidence in each of us, and knowing when and how to push our limits, Amber's helping us to increase our own self-confidence. My inner dialogue has shifted from "can’t" to "bring it on" and that energized feeling lasts long after class is over.

I can't say enough good things about my experience working with Amber. At the time I'm writing this, I have been training with her for about 9 months. In that time, I have participated in her small group classes and nutrition program.

When I started the fitness classes, I was coming back to training after a 10-year "sabattical" at age 46. It was like starting new, and Amber patiently re-taught me good form, awareness and challenged me in a way that was always motivating. I am working out 4-5 times per week under her advisement (2 times in her classes), and I am getting great results which includes lower body fat percentage and measurements. I feel stronger, confident and expectant to press on to accomplish more.

In her nutrition program, I have learned so much about how to balance the nutrition that my body needs, and I very much value her approach which is focused on health with long-term results and sustainability - not your in and out type of approach that typically is good for short-term gain and short stay results. Amber is always evolving and learning - researching the constantly changing health industry, and insightfully she incorporates new things into our programs regularly - both physcial and technological.

Amber is always very positive and realistic, and working with her has drastically improved my quality of life. I am at the beginning of a fantastic journey!

Last Spring I was sidelined with a broken arm. Recovery from that eliminated a large part of my cycling and hiking seasons which have been my primary methods of keeping my legs in shape for skiing season. Amber did an awesome job of accommodating my injuries in a group setting while restoring range of motion to my arm, and restoring strength in both my legs and arms. It's been a little over a year and I feel the same (or better!) than I did before I got hurt. I participate in all of my favorite activities now without any painful reminders of my injury.

Amber's classes are always challenging but she keeps things fun.

I was just recovering from my wife having twins (meaning no exercise, and fast food daily), and was severely over-weight, and suffering from a lot of health related issues (gout, sleep apnea, pre-diabetic). Amber was able to design a food plan and work-out regimen to meet my needs. Within 6-7 months I have lost 65 pounds, and no longer suffer from my other health issues. The one downside is that I don't fit into any of my old clothes, and had to spend a lot of money on a new wardrobe...but that is an expenditure I am more than willing to have! She has completely changed my life, and I am extremely grateful! I cannot recommend her enough.

I am a 46 year old male, who loves sports and have always participated in them. I have done tremendous amounts of damage to my body in the last 10 years due to sports injuries, and other associated injuries. I am loaded with titanium, and stainless steel all down the left-side of my body, as well as many other physical issues. I constantly live in pain, and muscle and ligament tightness. I want to keep skiing and playing softball, as long as I am capable. Amber has helped me to loosen up the troubled areas of my body and strengthen those areas as well so that I can continue to ski and play ball.

She also has educated me on how to keep progressing so that I do not loose those abilities as I age. She is well versed in Functional Training in which I have done much research because I think it is the only thing that will keep me physically active without re-injuring myself again. Her knowledge and dedication to her students/patients is well admired, and I hope to keep tapping her knowledge, and having her help me to reach my goals.

Amber is a top asset to any organization that she may work for as a physical trainer, and a goto person for training knowledge.

I wish her well in any future endevor she may take on.

And thank you Amber! It is much appreciated.
