Learning Objectives

  1. Describe the prevalence, pathophysiology and consequences of prediabetes.
  2. Detail the most effective interventions for preventing the progression of prediabetes to type 2 diabetes.
  3. Outline common barriers to participating fully in a diabetes prevention program.
  4. List several physical activity and nutrition principles for best managing prediabetes.
  5. Develop health coaching strategies to increase uptake and adherence to diabetes prevention lifestyle programs.
  6. Summarize at least one way to engage with clinicians, healthcare systems and/or payers to reduce the prevalence and burden of prediabetes.
