Certificate Includes the following courses:

  • The Most Effective Way to Customize Programs and Choose the Best Exercises for Every Client
Everyone moves differently, so not every exercise is right for everybody. This can make it challenging for fitness professionals to make the best program design choices for clients. Fortunately, now there is an easy way to determine what types of exercises are and aren’t appropriate, allowing you to tailor a program to each person’s specific needs. Join FMS co-founder and creator Lee Burton as he unveils new, straightforward, science-based assessments that will help you select the best exercises to ensure the safest and most effective workout. This new and innovative way of assessing movement doesn’t require any equipment and can be done anywhere. During this time it is a great way to engage your clients virtually, giving you both more awareness and insight into where their biggest opportunities lie.

  • The Physiology of Fat Loss: New Exciting Findings
Join Len Kravitz in one of the most comprehensive lectures ever to explain the detailed physiological and metabolic aspects of fat metabolism, caloric expenditure and fat loss. Participants will learn, from a cellular perspective, the newest research on the hormonal regulation of lipolysis during exercise, the effect of exercise on lipolysis, the effect of exercise on fat oxidation, effective exercise intensities for fat loss, and strategies to enhance caloric expenditure with exercise. You’ll also receive 10 groundbreaking exercise programs that maximize caloric expenditure and fat metabolism.

  • Functional Movement Patterns for Older Adults
The seven fundamental movement patterns can be incredibly beneficial for older adults of all ages and functional levels. In this workshop, we will cover techniques and strategies for applying the “Big 3” patterns—deadlift, squat and lunge—to this diverse group, including: teaching strategies; simple assessments to determine which clients “earn the right” to load these patterns; how to regress and progress each movement; how to deal with chronic conditions and orthopedic issues; ways to integrate muscle power training; and programming variables. There will be a considerable amount of small-group and partner work to facilitate the learning.

  • After the Injury: Functional Training Periodization
Anyone who has worked out consistently chomps at the bit to get back in the game quickly after an injury. Come learn how to do just that for all rehabbed fitness levels (after medical clearance) by creating periodized workouts and using some staple and common accessories. We will review a few common-case scenarios and you will learn how to make your clients masters of movements every step along the way with simple progressive programs. Week by week, they will anticipate stepping into new movement opportunities with a great mental attitude to develop and garner the mobility and strength they never thought would be possible again!

  • Assessment, Corrective Exercise and Functional Training in the Virtual and Physical Training Facility
As the fitness landscape has changed, we have been pushed into a hybrid virtual and in-person training model. Some clients feel comfortable entering brick-and-mortar spaces while others do not. In this session, you will learn how to teach your clients to self-assess—whether online or in-person—and choose the most effective corrective exercises based upon the results of those assessments. You’ll also gain insight on selecting effective and safe training progressions based upon the posture and movement issues your client uncovered while keeping them on track to achieve their goals.

  • Designing and Delivering Effective Online Personal Training Sessions
Like it or not, virtual training is here to stay. As gyms open and close and safety concerns stay at the forefront of clients’ minds, the savvy personal trainer will include virtual training in their list of services. But providing effective and success-producing online experiences requires more than a Zoom account. Kenneth Miller, MS, will provide you with everything you need to know to develop and provide high-level online personal training sessions–from top technology to coaching strategies to cueing and everything in between.
