Certification/Training Types
Description | Certified Trainers have successfully completed the Fascial Fitness Intro Course and Trainer Course. ====== FASCIAL FITNESS INTRO COURSE CONTENTS: _Theory • Fascia as elastic springs with kinetic storage capacity (slings and springs) • Stretching global tension chains instead of local areas • Gliding shear movement • Fascia as our biggest sensory organ • Ground substance and the fluid dynamics of fascia • Optimal tension and the body network (“tensegrity”) • Changes in load, hydration and restorative periods • How does connective tissue become strong and resilient? • How does connective tissue remain pliable and elastic when we grow older? _Practice • Catapult mechanisms: fascial jumping and bouncing • Rebound elasticity (elastic bouncing): loading with and without weights • Fascial stretch (fascial stretching): long myofascial chains versus local stretches, gentle melting stretches and dynamic actively-loaded stretches • Fascial release (fascial loosening): release techniques with balls and rollers • Sensory refinement (sensory refining): body perception and proprioceptive stimulation ====== FASCIAL FITNESS TRAINER COURSE CONTENTS: _Theory • Review and extension of the 4 principles of Fascial Fitness • Further exploration of the Tensegrity Model • Healthy fascial tone: hypertension, hypotension and “optimal” tension of well-being • Body perception and the somatic body senses ?a) Proprioception b) Interoception c) Nociception • Fascia as a sensory organ and the importance of mechanoreceptors and free nerve endings • Proprioceptive refinement and the “water in oil” principle in myofascial pain • Fluid dynamics and the role of water in connective tissue rehydration and health • Specific contra-indications for the basic exercises, do’s and don’ts _Practice • Practical guidance and extension of the 4 principles of Fascial Fitness • Practical application of “tensegral” pretension • Individual training recommendations, focused encouragement of one’s own embodiment • Practical exercise sequences to stimulate the different layers of the lumbar fascia • Adding tools: weights, fascia rollers, various balls • Teaching a complete sample class • Stimulation of fascia as sensory organ: proprioceptive refinement and interoceptive awareness • Practical component in small groups addressing specific topics, presenting information, evaluating each other’s performance and giving feedback |
