Description
This course will give you insight into some of the key studies on yoga, Pilates, qigong and other mind-body topics. You'll be able to describe the state of research regarding meditation for health, understand the effects of a yoga-based lifestyle on coronary artery disease, and gain knowledge on at least three mind-body practices that research has shown to have a positive effect on stress reduction. You'll also discover the utility of using adaptive Pilates exercises for low-back pain, and how the practice of tai chi and qigong can significantly improve risk factors for the metabolic syndrome.
