My name is Rattana. “Royal Jewels” in Thai. I was born in Thailand with 8 siblings. I was the second from the youngest of the 4 girls and 4 brothers. Besides having 4 older brothers, I also grow up with 7 cousin boys. Since, my teenage sisters didn’t want me around. I spent my time playing and fighting with the boys in my town. Yes, I was a tomboy until I reached my teen years. I've earned myself nicknames today "THE BEAST ", "BADASS GIRL", "THE MACHINE", etc. I am not a rockstar fitness enthusiast but I love to workout/train hard to reach my fitness & health goals. When I was 12, I moved to America to live in California. I didn’t speak English when I arrived in San Francisco Airport. It made our arrival a pretty challenging one to say the least. During my college years, I supported myself through college by working many hours at 3 separate Thai Restaurants in Southern California. And still, it wasn't making enough money to pay for my college expenses. One of the restaurants decided to sponsor me in the local beauty pageant. I competed and got in to the finals. That was good enough for me. It earned me just enough money to pay for my food and rent for few months. College life was tough but I graduated in 1996 from Art Center College of Design (ACCD) with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA). I enjoyed a short successful career in Graphic Design but still my heart was in health and fitness. My mission is to help people achieve their goals and enjoy a healthy, fulfilling life. I believe that healthy living is about commitment, and creating sustainable healthy choices. It's about variety of experience, and lifelong learning. It's about finding the beauty in the things you are capable of, expanding so you can do more, and sometimes accepting the things that you can't do.
