Derek Concannon is a Certified Personal Trainer of the National Academy of Sports Medicine who demonstrates a strong imagination of creative exercise and persevering enthusiasm for a healthy lifestyle. He is certified in CPR and AED. He currently is pursuing his certification in Corrective Exercise Science (CES). Derek was always an active, athletic individual. He became a certified black belt in karate at the age of 15. He then decided to pursue his love of basketball and track at the Division I Catholic Conference High School, St. John’s Preparatory, in Danvers, MA where he excelled as a varsity level basketball and track academic athlete. Derek became increasingly intrigued in fitness science and how an individual can utilize specific exercises, training techniques, and nutrition to improve physical performance and transform body image. As an athlete, Derek made it a point to experience and study many styles of fitness ranging from yoga to crossfit to plyometrics to power lifting in order to remain in top condition. His enthusiasm enabled him to reach his first personal major breakthrough in the fitness industry: developing the inaugural plyometrics program at the Center of Health and Fitness at Duke University in Durham, NC. He coordinated and instructed this program while attaining his master’s degree in business management from The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. After graduating from business school, he continued to make a name for himself as a personal trainer at the Boston Sports Club in Andover, MA and then moved on to Anytime Fitness in Wilmington, MA where he developed his own style of training called Hyper Conditioning. Based upon exercise science studies, recent fitness trends, and self-tested exercise experiments, Derek created a safe and unique style of training that can start transforming your body in as little as 2-4 weeks! He uses unique concepts such as Parkinson’s Law in his “Parkinson’s Law Training Circuit”, “Duality Hybrid Training” ( i.e. spinning & cross fit), “Total Body Treadmill Workout”, and self-developed method “BSExI (Balance, Strength, Explosive, Isometric) Interval Circuit” just to name a few. He concentrates his efforts and studies to helping elite performers and aspiring performers, such as athletes, models, actresses/actors, and dancers achieve their ideal physical condition and image through various fitness secrets, creative exercises, and effective tips making the unrealistic goals achievable! Derek would like to thank those who have helped and guided him along his fitness journey. His influences enabled him to realize his true potential and ability to help transform the lives of others.
