What is the scope of practice for a Licensed Sports Nutritionist?

National Association of Sports Nutrition (NASN)Scope of practiceSports Nutrition

I am looking to enroll in the Primary Licensed Sports Nutritionist program, and my employer is willing to support me if they can know the scope of practice and how I could use it in my current role.

I would like to suggest you do a few things.... first look at the legal requirements for nutritional consultation in your state. From what I can see by a cursory examination your state seems to be relatively easy going, but it is important to check with the state..Here is some info on Colorado:

http://www.nutritioned.org/colorado-nutritionist.html

Second, you should contact your insurer and see what they will cover you for.

Third you should look through their training manuals.

If you plan to sell supplements or do meal plans keep in mind that whether or not one's state may say you may do these things that there is a reason why many states require a degree to practice as a nutritionist. Interactions with medications and medical conditions can be complex, and one never wants to go beyond not just legal scope of practice, but also one's own base of knowledge.

Good luck.

Hello Chauncenia Carroll,
Yes, Ariadne explains it well. I would look through the course texts and contact the educator for scope of practice. Getting the details through your state is a good idea, too.
Take care,
Natalie aka NAPS 2 B Fit.

You need to find out if your state/country accepts or recognizes the licensure of the program. You might ask the people offering the program to verify this as well. If they can't direct you to the right information, they may not be legit.

We should all aim to eat a healthy, varied diet based on the principles of the Eatwell Guide, which matches our energy needs. Here are online flashcards https://studyhippo.com/flashcards-by-topics/ where you can find free essay examples. This advice still applies when taking part in regular physical activity, such as going to the gym, swimming, running, cycling or team sports.

It's a really perfect job. You can approach the boss with some positive messages that encourage them to think about your issues constructively. Or after finding here https://www.myopportunity.com show them that you take an interest in the business, that you are an asset and that you have hidden qualities that they may not be taking advantage of.
