What is current workout goal?

Goals

Cosmetic - you want to look good, overall health, increase strength, increase endurance, some other reason. Maybe you have a more specific goal: to run a marathon, do a pull-up, compete in a competition.

My current goal is fat loss. I would like to get below 20% body fat. I am currently at 26% and started at 33%, so I am doing really well. I do caliper and bioimpedence measurements every two weeks to mark progress. Unfortunately, we don't have access to hydrostatic testing (that would BE AWESOME!), but oh well.

My workout regimen started with 3 days lifting and 2 days cardio and has progressed to 5 days lifting (45 min- microcycle through entire body)/ cardio (30 min). Luckily, I work at a gym so I can get it all in and see my clients!

I am eating mostly clean, but I am a STARBUCKS ADDICT!!! I am slowly working on it. I try to keep it down to once a week, but find when I am stressed that it's my go to thing of choice.

I like being able to show my clients that I do try to walk the walk. I am very honest and show my journals, including my Starbucks addiction and when I fall off the wagon. It helps a lot when seeing new clients too because I remember being intimidated thinking that personal trainers were perfect and did everything perfect.

I am 57 now, and my goal is to age successfully. I realize that much of my current state of health and fitness is because of good genes but I also take credit for the rest through a good balance of rest, activity and good nutrition.

Most of my clients are of my age, and I want to demonstrate the 'walk the walk' as Katherine puts it. Starbucks does not do it for me, but there are certain chocolates that I simply should not have in the house. I usually have enough willpower not to buy them in the first place, though.

But I am also very honest with my clients about the impact that genetics had for me. Maintaining my weight is quite easy for me, I am not a stress-eater, quite the contrary.

Hi Christy. My current, and past workout goal for the past several years has been "maintenance." As a life-long exerciser and athlete, I've performed my own workout programs and participated in organized competitive sports for FOUR decades. At this point in my life, I'm happy where I am physically (and so is my physician - smile). I continue to compete against athletes more than three decades younger than I am, and LOVE the fact that my health is generally quite good. So for me, maintaining what I have, serving as a role model not only for clients and others my age, but also to my young clients as an example of what they can achieve and maintain through consistency and perseverance, is truly important to me and is a prime reason why I continue to do what I do (aside of course from my sheer passion for staying healthy, strong, and athletic competition).

My current goal is to help others achieve their "ideal" body for the summer...The majority of my clients want that beach body type and I am currently designing the perfect boot camp for their rapid body re-composition. As a personal trainer, it is a great feeling knowing that you can help someone else achieve their goals.

I have also been spending a large portion of my time studying nutrition. Another ongoing goal is to understand what specific and minimal changes in diet can produce maximal results in redesigning your body composition.

My goal, as LaRue puts it, is to maintain. I, too, have been a competitive athlete for many, many years. As a result of some fairly significant orthopaedic surgeries, competition at a high level is history. But maintaining cardiovascular fitness is a challenge. Muscular strength and flexibility are equal parts of the fitness equation.

And, clearly, sustaining a healthy nutritional lifestyle is an integral component.

Take care.

My personal fitness goal is to stay as strong as I possibly can and constantly find new challenges.
I love to push (to a point) and I love to try new things

Being a trainer motivates me to workout everyday, no matter what.

If I make my boot campers and personal training clients do it I feel must maintain the same attitude!
It's about wellness and health for me, not looks...way too old for that!

My fitness goals at 55-It is about health, wellness and I must admit it is also about looks-I love when a 20 or 30 something woman asks me how I maintain my body! Fitness is my passion and I am also constantly adding new things to my workout that I pass on to my clients.
I do have degenerative arthritis in my knees and one wrist so I work very hard on the muscles surrounding these areas so they function well and don't slow me down.
I have also gotten a little more adventurous in my middle years-zip lining, skiing, and paddle boarding are a lot less daunting to me because of a healthy strong body. I like to pass this on to my clients also for motivation.

Nothing is more satisfying than functionally challenging the body.

Why weigh yourself and hope you lost .5 of a lb in a week?

Shoot to impress in the gym and outstrip people on runs.

I hate to quote a famous troll on this forum but he best put it.
