Have you decided who you want your certification recognized by? Your peers or organizations like the Institution for Credentialing Excellence?
The most well known certs are recognized by Institution for Credentialing Excellence (as mentioned by Joanne). Other certs are very well known and do not require continuing education. They are well known because people recognize them as quality. For instance NASM has a personal trainer cert that requires continuing education, but their higher level certs do not (CES, PES) because they are not recognized by ICE. This is most well recognized in NBA communities, but not as well in universities.
Whatever you do it won't be easy to get it well recognized, but over time it can be. Also, even if the whole nation doesn't know about it, it could still make you good money.

Thanks Joanne and Nick! I'll look into it. I understand that it takes time to become well-recognized, as was building our name. Our demographic is Moms and Dads and our take on wellness is different than most institutions. In fact, we look for trainers who are not already certified because we feel that personality and attitude is more important than anything.
Thanks again!
Thanks again!
Check with NCCA to find out how to get accredited. There are other organizations like this, but that is the leader in our industry right now.
