Traditionally these groups are called Mastermind groups. The idea is to bring a group of professionals together in the industry to share ideas, brainstorm and mentor one another. Another groups that I'm familiar with that is similar is Entrepreneur's Organization or EO.
Mastermind groups don't have to be local. The one I was involved with was spread out across different regions of the U.S.

Hey there Nancy,
As Paul answered above, this is a formal way but not always practical because it's more fun in person and can happen more frequently if it's a group in the same town. My experience anyway.
We've gotten groups of athletic and strength trainers together that work together at a facility or at several facilities and know eachother or went to school together. When we get together we just brainstorm about form during exercises, how to incorporate different equipment into planes of motion, etc. It's super fun and everyone can contribute.
I've also done 2 person workouts with another pro, exchanging: one pro may organize the workout one session, then the other the next. This works really well with 2 people who have different modality training.
No limits Nancy. The group can be whatever you'd like it to be...:)
Have fun!

Hello Nancy,
You came up with a great name; I like it. Have lots of fun brainstorming with your group. BTW, successful means something different for us all. Enjoy.
Thank you,

Thanks for your responses! I put the idea out to a fb group of local fitness instructors and trainers. I have 10 people interested. Once I pick a date, I'm sure that differing schedules will reduce the number, but I'm pleasantly encouraged by the number of people wanting to connect on a professional level. I'm also encouraged by the desire for live connection as opposed to social media.
